The theme for the 2012 Auburns sports teams was "we quit." Both the football team and basketball team wuit on thier coach. This cost Chizik his job, probably not Barbee due to financial wizardary of Jacobs.

So, in your opinion, which team quit the most? Id say football since we got buttraped by evey good team.

Hard one. I'll go with basketball, just because there was a chance, though slim, at the first of the season were we could've been average. Football, we sucked from game one.

Football. Not even close.

If Chizik was coaching our basketball team, we lose to TAMU by 20+ last night. Despite having 9 freakin' wins and absolutely nothing to play for, we were tied with TAMU with 5 or 6 minutes left last night.

Still think Barbee deserves to be fired. Just answering the question.

Easily football. We were in a lot of basketball games and couldn't execute down the stretch. Football was just abysmal considering the "stars" we had recruited.

yeah, football is the answer... we literally didn't show up for UGA, Bama, A&M, etc... the basketball team fought against UT in their last home game. We also showed some fight on the road at UK, Ark, Mizzou.

Football, definitely.

Basketball at least had enough fight left to allow Cam to will them to a win over Bama.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Cam's greatness at Auburn transcends the gridiron to all facets of Auburn sports.

Seriously. Can you imagine how much more full of suck AU athletics would have been the last 5+ years without Cam?

Toss up, they both showed no heart or fight during the season.

Figured this was as good a place as any to put this, ripped from the Bunker:
quote:

Talked to a FB player tonight (workouts)
A good friend who I hadn't talked to in awhile. But we were talking about the workouts and he said the mentality is COMPLETELY different in the weight room now. The intensity is to the point that players were questioning whether they could even survive in this new culture. He is a senior who was here through the whole Chizik tenure, and said he had never been through anything like this in his life. The severity of the offseason program literally broke players in the first weeks.

I've seen a few people posting on here that they wish they heard players complaining more about workouts because "if they were really terrible, the players would be telling anyone and everyone"... Well apparently that is not the case. He said everyone is so exhausted and tired they cant even get the energy up TO whine. The mentality is that excuses and griping are unacceptable, and you either bust your butt without grumbling or find a new school.

He has no doubts that Auburn will return to the top of the SEC by next season. He was playing when Auburn was the best in the Country, and he knows what that locker room looks like. Basically, you need to throw your expectations for next season out the window....because this team is not going through a "normal" transition offseason. Malzahn will win immediately and will accept nothing less.
