Put it this way: if all those guys had come back healthy in 2016, the SEC’s leading rusher that season would have never seen the field.

I feel like we know what we have in DJ unless his recent weight loss and lapsed time since his knee surgery unlock another gear. Great vision, good cuts, some quickness, and maybe lacking top end speed.

I feel like DJ's vision is a issue. Not a bonus. He doesnt seem to have any. We will see

And though Shivers brought it on that play in the Iron Bowl, I remain that he is a gimmick back and will be used accordingly. Not our primary back

We will see from Joiner, Mar or Tank who will step up.

Not sold on shivers. DJ looked decent for a first year guy, but wasn’t explosive. Way to early on tank, MAR and Joiner.

I’m excited to see who will step up and become RB1 and RB2. I thought a healthy combo of Kerryon and Pettway would’ve been unstoppable, but we just couldn’t get them healthy at the same time.

2015 was stout,

Kerryon Johnson
Roc Thomas
Jovon Robinson
Peyton Barber

Also had Kam Pettway and Chandler Cox in the backfield at FB. OLine had Shon Coleman, Alex Kozan, Austin Golson Braden Smith, and Avery Young.

That offense should have been great, but they were far from great.

What about when we had Bo, Lionel James, and Brent Fullwood? That was a hell of a wishbone formation.

Last I heard from anyone that had any idea of a pecking order was 1A Joiner and 1B Williams.

Did you really hear that Joiner was 1A or 1B? I haven't heard anything close to that. I have heard that MAR is the one showing out. I hope that is true because I always felt like he was a guy that could be number 1.

Yes. However that was in the first week of practice and could definitely be the "experienced" guys.

Don't forget about Tommy Agee at FB.

He really wasn't a true FB, but he was a heck of a blocker, and I remember games they gave him the ball many a time and he would break for long gains, bc he was so quick at the point of that wishbone.

DJ - Looks average
Tank - Looks to be the most talented.
MAR - Who?
Joiner - Its not happening fellas. Give it up
Shivers - Good running back.

Shivers, Tank, DJ. In that order

You’re overreacting as much as the Shivers guy in the other thread and probably the OP of this thread

Why is everybody so impressed with his six carries for 15 yards?

If this doesn't lend credence to theory that the new guy or backup is always the fan favorite I don't know what does. Remember this board last year after DJ Williams had two good runs against LSU? Or back to the JFIII days. Or wishing Nick Marshall away for Jeremy Johnson.

Just when we finally get rid of Martin and Miller taking carries away from better backs, here comes DJ Williams. No way MAR or Joiner are worse than him. He’s slow and has no vision.

The OP is a little slanted but I feel like the board had a good grasp on this RB group
