This year I think it was the complacency of his new deal and the hangover effect of the SECCG loss, missing the CFP.

What about all the other post season losses? Why does he seem to be jinxed or something?

He sucks at discipline, which is what it takes to keep guys focused and together for a game a month after the season technically ends.

That’s the only thing I miss from having Gene Chizik. He may not have been great, but we were always ready to compete in meaningless games.

Yeah if you just ignore 25% of his tenure

Same problem he has early in his seasons. Throw shite at the wall and hope something finally sticks, and hope they're not out of contention before the end of October. While it's a fun ride when they find their mojo, it doesn't happen very often, and it all unravels when someone gets hurt.

Hard to argue with any of this. Offensive gets too complacent. It's like he's afraid to score too many points. Against UGA and Bama the playbook was wide open. Medium range passes that weren't slants. When the defense knows it's a WR screeen (bc it's obvious) don't be so pig headed and do it anyway. We don't execute that well enough with WR blocking. Codie needs to get a blocker.

Stidham needs to check out of that. Don't know what kind of freedom he has but he went back to being timid. I don't understand why our WR can't run decent routes.

Ok rant over

Coaches change the plays from the sidelines. Stidham doesn’t have that freedom.

That's pathetic. Probably why he's so timid. Next year Gus needs to let him loose. He's got Mayfield talent if Gus will just use him properly.

Anytime Gus and his offense have to take multiple weeks or months between games, his offense comes back playing like crap.

He's a mediocre coach who just happens to get lucky once in a while. If you are expecting great things on a consistent basis, you will be sad.

Average coach, his team starts slow every season and after layoffs. 0-4 in January.
