I dont think increasing the capacity is a good thing.

I think they should add chair backs to all seats and maybe do something to the exterior to make it look modern.

I really liked the north endzone proposal that was done a few year's back. It wouldn't increase overall capacity much more than like 4-5k I think if that. I don't really care that much about chair backs.

Update the facade and improve the concessions/walkways/bathrooms. Give everything else a face lift and put a sound system throughout the stadium instead of just at one point.

I want it setup more like MLB stadiums. Restaurants. Lounges. Food trucks. On tap beer. Bring the tailgate inside. Reduce seating.

I agree with the sound system. I went to Arkansas and Vaught Hemmingway and they sounded great.

With technology the way it is currently I can basically step on to the field from my home and motorboat Gus’s man boobs. Attendance is falling accross college football and the SEC for 4 or 5 years now. I wouldn’t be happy to see funds used to increase the capacity unless it was a byproduct of other changes.

This. It's been my biggest pet peeve of our stadium for a long time. It's just ugly as all hell.

I like a lot of this. Unfortunately, restaurants and lounges are tough to make happen in football because we have 7ish home games instead of 81. I think the overall idea is that the gameday experience is going to need improvement and you’re going to need to draw people to the stadium from the couch.

This. Upgrade the exterior and technology. Don’t want to add more seats bc stadium attendance will likely continue to decline over the next decade. And cover the back of the damn jumbotron.

I think Greene was wise is halting the expansion. I think he will get it right when the time is right.

I want to add a bar/restaurant in the north endzone at field level. Open to anyone.

Update the look from the outside.

Update the sound system.

Reduce seating for more room/space

Build a raptor enclosure somewhere in the stadium or right on edges so folks can see the eagles

I’m like you. TV has gotten so good that it’s hard for me to really care about seeing games in person. But if they made it more like a baseball experience I could be swayed to attend more games.

Update the outside of the stadium and improve on the experience in there.

This would be cool. They also need to make it easier to see other games, or at least the score. I don’t know if that means making them more visible or improving the wifi.

Hire a big name architect to come up with phased masterplan for the stadium to bring it up to modern stadium standards. The stadium is arguably the second most important building on campus behind Samford Hall. It's aesthetics and experience should reflect that. I would be okay going with a modern aesthetic that causes it to stand out form the rest of the campus.

If there is no feasible architectural plan to enclose JH, it all needs to be brought down and rebuilt from the ground up.

Period.

I just no longer believe there's anymore justifiable paint to use to cover up the many flaws of the facility. And I hate to say that because I love J-H. But, at this point, I think Auburn is throwing good money after bad. Maybe there's a feasible plan for the lower bowl to remain for any near-complete rebuild?

I agree with reducing seating, but that is not going to happen anytime soon. To do that you have to displace people from their seats and you will have a lot of mad TUF folks mad when they are moved.

Baseball takes forever and is boring as watching grass grow, hence the reason you have to build something entertaining in the stadium.

Decrease capacity by ditching bench seats for chair backs, face lift for outside and concourse area.

Decrease the capacity, but don’t take away seats entirely. Expands the width of each seat so you aren’t squeezed together.

This honestly very well could be the case. What architectural significance would we be missing if we built from scratch? Nothing really. OSU's stadium has the rotunda, the LA Coliseum has the torch and arches, but JHS doesn't present anything that fans would "miss" if it were torn down.

That being said, could Auburn afford to play two seasons in Birmingham or Montgomery while a new stadium was built? Maybe the lower bowl could remain in-tact while construction resumed around it.

And are we ever going to add paneling to cover the JacobsTron? Or do we just enjoy exposed beams at AU?

We should table any expansion plans for a decade and focus on making JH an upper-tier aesthetics/experience stadium.

It's a naturally great stadium for noise, so we have no need for anything to make it more intimidating or advantageous for the program. The outside still needs a ton of work. Seating is bad, and while I'm sure it would be very expensive to add seatbacks/seats, it would very much improve the stadium. The interior aesthetics are really bad too. I don't know how you do it, but I think cheap modern upgrades to the interior aren't really helping.

If you go to Wrigley/Fenway, etc. they've done a good job making old/industrial looking concourses look pretty good. To me that effort would be better than orange paint and cardboard-looking concourse signs.

Lastly, the jumbotron scaffolding looks cheap. It sticks out with the dumb gray cladding. It looks like a shitty stucco house from 1994. Make that match the rest of the interior upgrades.

In short, stop trying to IKEA-over JHS and do a round of expensive upgrades that'll age well for the next 25-30 years.
