Freshman QB, senior OL, Bama and UGA at home, potentially best DL in the country.

How high do we set the bar to declare success? How many wins? Which wins?

Curious what the natives are thinking 10 days before fall camp begins.

Realistically it needs to be a 9 win season IMO with a potential 10 with the bowl game.

The schedule is absolutely brutal, which is why most think Malzahn would be safe with 7-8 wins, but that would still be disappointing. This roster is very talented. 9 wins at least to be a "successful" year.

10 regular and post-season wins
Win all the games we’re supposed
Break losing streak against LSU in BR
Win either Bama or UGA

Minimum 9 wins including the Bowl Game, have to beat one of LSU, UGA, Bama. Be competitive vs. the others.

Gonna be tough against one of the toughest schedules in the country.

Go 2/3 out of LSU, Georgia, and Alabama and I’ll be okay with whatever happens from there. If we have to make a coaching move do it, but please just start winning these rivalry games.

The way it should be is we don’t care about certain wins, just Championships. We need to get back to there. We need to right some ships though. Including playing LSU on the road.

Gus gets a bad mammogram test and has to sit the season out.

I would be satisfied with a sweet 16 appearance. Until I see how we play as a team, that's as high as I'm going to go.

But for real...my standard is always the same. That is win 2/3 among LSU, UGA, and Bama. With Bama and UGA back at home, this season is easier to do that.

I want to see a cohesive plan.

If every first down is followed by a quick inside zone, I’ll still watch but only because AU football is something my son enjoys watching as well.

I’d also like to see entire field used in passing game instead of 283 screen passes.
0-10 yards, 11-20 yards, and over 21 yard passes should be thrown to left, right, and middle.

I would like to see us compete in every game. All losses should be 8 points or less.

I would like us to limit turnovers and penalties on offense. I would like to see us organized and not have to use timeouts before end of half or game.

I would like us to tackle well and create turnovers.

I want to see a good kicking game.

The wins will come if we do the above.

Have success against our rivals. It is no fun to just pencil in losses mentally every time we travel to Tiger Stadium or when we play UGA/Bama.

He has to beat Georgia

Lose to them and he needs to start packing his bags. He lost our lead in the series and now they are 3 games up. Colossal failure on Gus's part

This is how I think. I want to see the things that make a successful team. Then the results follow.

Agree with all comments here. Main thing is getting a win in tiger stadium against coach fricking O.

You lay out some good thoughts but lets be honest, every coach/team has some of these things regardless.

Honestly, I am only pissed off about this if it doesnt work. We did this pretty much every series in 2013-2014 and it was working so I did not mind the zone runs on first down. But if it doesnt work, do something else

We have been pretty good on penalties in the Gus era. Most of our turnovers last year were our QB. This year we have a freshman QB playing and that could happen again. We are playing the hardest schedule in the country so I wont put a point number on games.

I would like us to tackle well and create turnovers.

WE have done well here so I hope we continue

My biggest thing is not to change the offense when its working and not do the same thing when it is not. I dont care about a passing game / running game or who we thrown the ball to. Just find something that works and do that. Not get too cute and run too much razzle dazzle. Id not mind the trick plays at times but if we are marching the ball running it, there is no need for a triple lindy half back pass

I see this season being tough on us. Its a killer schedule right from the start and some of our main rivals that everyone is talking about are top 5 teams. Asking any coach or program to beat top 5 teams with a brand new QB is a difficult task but I think we will get a couple of them.

We could swap coaches with any football program in the state (including Samford) and win 7-8 games.

Gus needs to win 10 and prove he can build a consistent team. No more Tennessee type losses.

Coach O and Coach Dan are not insurmountable foes but Gus makes us feel that way.

Win 10 or start packing.
