Saw Gus come out and talk about how he wants to go to playing 9 SEC games per season.
Thinking about it, I am all for it.

We wouldn't be adding games to the schedule, we'd just replace a non-conference game with a conference game.

Would love it, although I think total games would remain the same, teams would just play one less OOC game.

All 4 it get rid of some of these crappy div.9 games

Ah okay I was under the assumption we would play instead of a bye week. I see now. Makes sense

I would be a lot of teams would replace their "good" OOC team with a additional SEC game. Since it does not appear to matter on schedule for the SEC.,I could see some teams still playing 3 bad OOC teams and a additional SEC team

It’d be great. Hopefully it’d be 6-2-1 so we can rotate cross divisional opponents like we used to.

Yea, this is my fear. Perfect world we'd have a game like Washington next year and add like a Florida to the schedule. That would be awesome. Would be a brutal arse schedule, but as fans we'd enjoy the matchups. In reality, we'd just replace Washington with a Florida and keep the crap games.

3 bad OOC

Replacing the Samford’s or the Clemson’s? If replacing the Clemson’s, sure,, let’s go 9 games. If replacing Samford, the schedule is already hard enough so no thanks.

9 SEC games needs to happen, and the SEC is way behind on this. Don't give a shite about chick fil a kickoffs and playing Clemson and Washington. Give us another SEC game instead.

I agree to a degree. I'd actually rather have home and homes with teams like Washington and stuff. If the option is scheduling a bunch of ACC teams though as our "big" p5 game, then yea lets do 9 conference games. If it replaces the stupid neutral site kickoff games, I'm fine with it.

The problem with that is as soon as that was done, everyone would be bitching that we dont play any OOC teams. Personally, I could care less if our 9th team is a SEC game or a "good" OOC team. I dont want 4 shitty games per year and I dont want 10 strong teams to play during the season. We are about where we need to be on competition. 9 solid teams, no matter the break down, is enough.
I enjoy us playing the OOC games. Shows where we are compared to other conferences

That's my opinion as well. I wish we'd do more home and homes though. I understand the revenue side of it, but I would really love to be able to travel to some cool venues to see Auburn play outside of bowl games, which generally end up being the same 3-4 bowls.

I’m for it. Miss going to Gainesville and Knoxville

I honestly think the rest of the country wants the SEC to play 9 plus a power 5 OOC just so that we will cannibalize ourselves more. The UCF push showed me that the rest of the nation no longer cares about SOS (which dominated the BCS talk). Meanwhile, all Clemson did was give us another loss. Our later playoff push proves we didn’t need Clemson. It helped having a respectable loss but was it really worth it?

I like it. It will never happen IMO.

The hardest part of doing this is convincing the teams that play an out of conference rival. (Georgia, Florida, South Carolina)
To play a 9 game schedule plus the out of conference rival puts them in tough spot if they ever want to do the out of conference kickoff games.

They average over 5 million per team in payout.

I want Florida back on the schedule.
