The only thing about all this construction around town, we're starting to lose our "college town" feel.

I disagree. I think they've done a good job designing the stuff to give off that same feel when on campus.

Has there been a time in the last 30 years where there wasn't any construction?

Auburn still seems like Auburn to me.

Wat

I mean, it's a completely different place than it was 10-12 years ago, but it's still 100% college town

Yes, there was little construction from 97-01...campus looks totally different now.

That was when I was at AU (and a couple of years before - took me a while, not too bright, etc) and I do not recall much construction on campus at all.

2001 was when all the construction started. Since then it hasn't stopped. I bet we could list 100 separate projects that have been initiated since 2000.

When I was there, that was when they began a ton of work on College Street.

They are going to open it just as I'm leaving to go back to work in Birmingham.

Will be nice to come back to though. At least I'll get a year out of it.

I can verify that there are at least a couple of broken desks throughout the various auditoriums in parker.

I'm convinced that demolishing Parker Hall would release some lethal chemical or substance into the atmosphere. The University knows this, and it explains why the building is still standing.

You're thinking of Ross Hall. A tile fell on out of the ceiling and hit a kid in one of my sisters classes there...in 2000.

Ross needs an interior renovation likr Comer had done but it has a beautiful exterior fascade.

Dudley leaks and is a horrible building and same with Parker. They serve no historical or aesthetic appeal and need to be torn down. Broun too.

The interior of Ross Hall was totally renovated just a few of years ago. Totally gutted and rebuilt.
