He’s the best recruiter for sure. Team has improved each year. Clinard (golf) and Bruce are right there or better though.

I’m still team Bruce, but Butch is doing a great job really building something.
Bruce has a good track record at other schools but if he does poorly next year then Butch could take over with a postseason appearance.

Bruce took one of the worst P5 basketball programs and made it yearly NCAAT team.

Guessing you’re taking about my impression of Bruce?
A few things: 1) I don’t think our basketball program is elite. 2) I don’t think Bruce is elite either.
I don’t think we’ve arrived in basketball either. I do recognize the stark difference from Barbee to Pearl. It’s hard to accurately emphasize just how bad we were in basketball compared to now
I do think that Butch is right there with Bruce, though.

1) I don't think our Basketball program is elite either. ONly KY is elite in the SEC. We do have a good to very good program, though.
2)Bruce is not elite either, but using the word 'elite' is wrong for every team, unless they are Duke, KY, KS, NC.
I think we are close to arriving in Basketball. To have possibly 2 straight 20+ win seasons, and an SEC championship is something we have'nt done in the 20th century.
I don't think Butch is right there with Bruce, for now, bc, to be fair he has only been our coach for 3 years+ now while Bruce has had 5+. How can Butch be equal to Bruce, when he has not even won the SEC yet? He has gone to 2 NCAAs, so if Bruce does it this year, then they are equal getting to the NCAAs, which is the goal...
But I like them both as our coaches...

My point was that I’m not awarding him a trophy he took a dead program and brought life to it. Basketball is important to students now and the program is now a contender in our conference and nationally.
In the arena’s first year my friends and I would be the only ones on an entire row. Now students line up to get in. Can’t underestimate how much he’s done to get us where we are now. I think Butch is getting there with baseball too. We’re going to be in the post season conversation every year there with frequent top picks in the draft.
