I knew corner was a good position for him beginning his college career, but I was skeptical about his ability to adapt this late in his career.

I have to admit I am somewhat impressed with his coverage abilities. He looks physical as a corner and I really like his aggressiveness. It may cause some penalties, but I like what he does. I know he has gotten beat sometimes, but overall I really like what Trovon brings to corner.

I of course find myself wishing he had done this earlier. His speed looks excellent and he is on most of the receivers like a glove that I have seen. I hope it only gets better.

What do some of you think? Do you see some of the same that I am or am I crazy?

My view is skewed by his performance at Receiver. It shouldn't affect my opinion on him at corner but for some reason it does. I have noticed improvement from him though

Agree. It helps, since Holsey is better at safety. I like the Mincy-Reed-Holsey-Ford group better than the Mincy-Jones/Holsey-Whitehead-Ford group.

I felt like most of his mistakes were from inexperience rather than being overmatched. That's what I loved about Reed at CB. He keeps learning and his skillset from WR combined with athleticism is making him pretty darn good.

Wish we did this last year.

It just makes me mad because if he can be as good as he is now, imagine how good he could be if he would have been playing CB this whole time. But at least we're getting one good year from him. He's stuck with it for 5 years, he deserves this chance he's getting this year.

I do not understand the infatuation with Reed at corner.

Every time they show a replay he has been interfering. Literally EVERY time, the announcers will say he got away with a hold or a push.

Guess he is good at hiding penalties?

Sometimes the announcers don't know shite. Maybe he's just good at CB.. ever considered it?

I've seen him hold a few times but I think he got called on one or two. Bottom line he's looked pretty damn good at DB.

Maybe you missed where I said I like that he is aggressive. Hanging on a receiver was a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

I've also been impressed with TR at corner. He needs some polish but I like his aggressive play and it seems like a better fit for him.

I've felt like he learned a bit by playing WR. I agree it should have happened earlier but I don't know if he would be as good if he started at CB from day1.

Remember our DBs didn't seem to learn anything during the Chizik era anyways so he didn't miss much

I hope he intercepts Harris 3 times Saturday. Only way to make it better would be for GRob to be there on the sidelines cheering him on.

We saw his natural fit was at CB in the first place when he was a standout in the Army AA game. You can't tell me 3 years playing DB wouldn't have made him better than him playing WR.

Agreed, I get what gene is saying, but I think Reed would have benefited just the same.

In theory "learning what WRs think" is great but that's not the reason he's succeeding at CB.

I understand it as well but for 3 years that just doesn't add up

I just think he has some skills/awareness due to his time at WR that most CBs don't have. I think if he had moved to CB before last year, he would have had best of both worlds.

Same reason why I think if Nick Marshall were to move to DB, he would be better now due to his better understanding of college offenses
