I attribute that to the fact that Gus has always treated JJ like his beloved illegitimate love child that he could never admit to.

I'll hold off on the tMelt until we hear what got him kicked off the team. Could have been a situation like last year with Duke where he's a cancer in the locker room.

I mean even if he was kicked off for good reason (which I'm assuming he was) this still deserves a melt

That's pretty much exactly what Gus said - it was pretty short and sweet though. The situation with Duke last year was referenced and he said there will be no personal distractions or cancerous attitudes in the locker room. If that's the case and it was necessary, then I'm fine with the decision. Pettway at least looks big and should be good enough to hold a power back role. Gus said he's been preparing as the likely starter since spring.
I'd still like to know what the real situation was, but we will likely never know unless somebody let's it slip.

It still amazes me to this day how players like Duke and Jovon (and many many others) can be staring that sweet sweet NFL money right in the face and then...

I had this conversation with my customers yesterday. Can you imagine how much work those guys put in over the last 10 years. Working out, practices then to just throw it away at the end. Hard to believe.
