Fantastic stuff. Wish I could see a video!

"Apple CEO and Auburn University alum Tim Cook delivered the pregame speech Saturday before the #IronBowl:

“This is one of life’s rare times that you can create a memory that will last a lifetime,” Cook says. “For you. For everyone who’s worn that jersey before. For everyone in the Auburn family – and for every underdog out there who’s ever come against the establishment. You’ve earned it. You deserve it. You worked hard. You prepared. You fell down but you got up.

“… Our biggest obstacle today is not the team in crimson. It’s that little voice in your head that tells you you’re doing 100 percent when you’re actually at 85 to 90. We all have that. Extinguish it! Expel it! Expire it! Tell it you are not giving up your shot. You have worked too hard and come too far to only come this far.

“Before you leave the locker room today, close your eyes. Take one moment. Think about the best version of yourself. That is who you really are. That person has everything you need to win today. Fall down seven times, get up eight. Rise like the wave and never let them forget today.

“They have had their time! Their time is over! It’s our time!”

The big misnomer is that the pre-game speaker needs to be loud, fired up, and rowdy to get the players hyped.

Tim's speech, which is pretty damn awesome, connected with the players in a different, yet perhaps more effective manner.

He used facial recognition that correctly identified them as bad asses and then unlocked them.

There has to be a video of this somewhere. Maybe AU AD will release it later this week

Good for Old Timmy, he is still goofy as hell glad we won not as bad as I thought it would be. Watched the Review and he didn’t even know the fight song after the game. I can really get behind him, pardon the pun, if he can get some cyborg shite for KJ shoulder by Friday.

Tim Cook supposedly has a good bit of Auburn gear in his office + has a history of tweeting after big AU games.

I doubt he lives and dies AU football, but he clearly cheers on Auburn. I'm not particularly surprised older alumnus who can't make a lot of games is fuzzy on the words. He probably hasn't heard someone cheer it in years

Don't worry, no one was thinking you'd be the one behind

Wow!

I was surprised that we had Tim Cook doing a pre-game speech. That was absolutely fantastic.

Also, from the videos I have seen, the locker room version is much faster than the fight song version. Unless you know that and are ready, you are going to fall behind early and have to skip words to catch up.

People shouldn't assume just because he's a lanky, gay, tech nerd, that he cant give a fiery speech. Probably half his life is giving speeches for hire these days.

He represents Auburn incredibly well, and on a global stage, too. He is by far the highest profile alumnus we have. Proud to have him as a fellow grad. And that was a magnificiently crafted speech. War Damn Tim Cook!

The "complimentary" iPhone X's were pretty effective motivational tools as well.
