Starter likely named in next 24-48 hours
Anyone else get the feeling that Gus is going to try to make a two-QB system in his reinvention of himself? Kind of like his next step from the Wildcat...
Guessing both may see significant playing time this season. If Bo is the starter, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Joey as much as 40%. If Joey is the starter, I think we may see Bo 10% to 20%. Debatable whether either is a good thing.

That'd at least mean a hot backup if the need arose... a near luxury come amen-corner. And maybe with two going hard we'll not let up on the gas with a 2 TD lead?

Please god no. If Bo starts, I have no doubt Joey plays in the wildcat/power run roll similar to Chris Leak/Tebow but 60/40% is basically a QB rotation and will cause issues with the Offense. 75/25% split of snaps would be about the mist you could have and maintain the continuity of the offense.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for a rotation or either guy. I want the one who has the best chance of winning. I just see Joey getting more PT as the back-up if Bo wins the job than vice versa.
I've long thought the (slightly) more experienced guy would get the nod if the coaches felt the two were even/about even, and that Bo would have to show that he is clearly superior. That it's taken so long tells me that the coaches are trying to give Joey every chance, but Bo is either making it really competitive or Joey is just not impressing at all. Hoping for the former.
Again, I want the best guy, but I was hoping for Joey because I think there's a better chance that Bo will sit behind him than the other way around. If one of the two leaves, we are suddenly very again skinny again at QB.

I agree with all of this

The closest I think we get to a 2 QB system is something like Nix/Craig. Nix as the starter and Gatewood in for short yardage or some red zone plays.

It ends 5 minutes before the game. Lol.
Seriously we'll know soon because once they start practicing with prep centered on the Oregon game it will be obvious who is starting.

The choice has been made. Daniel Cobb is the starter.
