Source: SportsbyBrooks has learned that the richest man in the state of Alabama, Auburn superbooster Jimmy Rane, is targeting Bob Stoops to replace Gus Malzahn if the latter fails to beat Alabama this season. #Auburn #BobStoops #JimmyRane #GusMalzahn
I’m not linking but you can find his tweet by searching his twitter handle. @SportsbyBrooks
This guy and Pete Thamel must’ve been denied by the same AU woman like 15 years ago.
Also, I believe that someone is paying these writers $$$ to circulate these rumors. This is two straight seasons where something like this has come up before a big game

Stoops won one NC in 18 years at Oklahoma in a very down conference. He's a good coach, but wouldn't do anything to advance AU IMO.

I see this as only good things, now we need Thayer, Pete and Forde to say we are cheatin....if that happens book your tickets brah

You serious Clark? He would give a big boost in recruiting right off the bat. And he only won the one NC, but played for multiple.
But this is stupid anyway at this point. We may have another 8-5 season, but they’re 3-0 right now.

I guess the question (assuming this mess is true) which would you consider the better coach, Stoops or GM? Would anybody be upset if Stoops publicly announced that he wanted the AU job? We are staring down the barrel of losing to LSU, UGA, and UA for sure. With possible/probable loses to aTm and Florida.
I know this west coaster is looking for pot stirring crap but, again, my question stands, would anybody be upset if Stoops wanted to take the helm next year?

Is Bob Stoops bringing Lincoln Riley with him?
If not, I'll pass.

I really was hoping Gus was going to finally figure it out and turn the corner this year but so far it looks like the same old Gus.

Are you serious Clark? OU under Stoops was never an elite recruiting program. In his last 6 seasons (2011-2016 classes), he never cracked the top 10

After 2004, Oklahoma was the Georgia of the Big12 until Lincoln Riley showed up.

but they’re 3-0 right now.
Because Lincoln Riley is the most innovative offensive coach in all of football right now

Gus and Stoops seem like a wash to me.

I think the 3-0 he’s referring to is Auburn’s 3-0
