Auburn is 10-3 now and at #7 in the final regular season standings. We beat both our biggest rivals by substantial margins and pretty much dominated them in the regular season who were both #1 teams in the nation. We are going to a New Years 6 bowl game and with a win would be 11-3 and a top 5 team in the final 2017 standings Mkay.

So with that, we should not re-sign our head coach and should either hire our Defensive Coordinator Mkay, with zero head coaching experience, or a guy who totally failed miserably at the only two Power 5 head coaching jobs he ever had Mkay.

so let me get this straight, we should just give him whatever crazy arse demand he feels like we owe him because he had a decent year in a weak conference year? it's a 2 way street there Kristi. we want Gus to love AU just the same. he should be able to work here for a little less than Arky if he truly loved AU. see how stupid that sounds when we saw it the other way?

Not exactly correct. Steele has been a head coach. A disaster head coach, but he does have experience

and furthermore, we gave Gus his mf'ing shot. without AU Gus is nothing. if he cant appreciate AU for that I say frick him. he is an egomaniac, ungrateful motherfricker. Bill Clark would take this team and stuff their cocks down Gus Malzahn's throat and make him like it.

I dont like the fact that we are going to have to pay up more money to keep him. I dont. But, and its a big but. You have to realize that the coaching salary market has been raised. The Jimbo hire is about the blow the top off the coaching salary cap. It sucks but you have better get ready for it. If we dont pay Malzahn and try to pick up another experienced head coach, we will have to pay him as well.

Its happening. No way to stop it

Any big name replacements will require a ridiculous amount of money as well considering the deals A&M and Arkansas have offered. It sucks but that's life right now

Other option is pay less for an inexperience coordinator & go through this whole process again. Pay Gus & let's move on with our lives

This is why you are not part of the system. This is not emotional. Its business.

talent. By the way; Muschamp and Steele were both pushed onto him by Jacobs, so any credit for our defensive turnaround (you know, while Gus was trying to figure out how to score points) should go to that idiot that everyone hates.

This a business and a job you fricktard. And while Clark may be a decent coach his offense is awful

I'm not the one that proposed the "emotional" angle you dumb arse. malzahn is the one talking all this want to feel loved bullshite. I agree 100% with that but if he wants to play it that way there is a rebuttal for that too. the fricker is delusional no matter how you look at it. the only thing flaoting this is Arky being MORE desperate than Malzahn is delusional. period. who the frick else is gonna offer him 7.1 for 6 years?

So you are wanting Gus to have some kind of allegiance to Auburn and take less money, millions, because we gave him a shot and the Auburn fan base has been so good to him?

Lol.

Let's be honest, USC was under sanctions with 30 lost scholarships in 3 years during his time there with a two year bowl ban. He won 8, 10 (lost in triple overtime to Andrew Luck , also finished with two 1,000 yard WRs, a 1000 yard RB, and a 3,000 yard passer), then 7 wins, and of course was at 4-7 when fired (injuries have a way to decimate a team that had been down 30 scholarships).

I would not classify that as a complete failure.

AU should not pay Gus $7,000,000 because he beat our two of our rivals. He has incentives built into his contract. Anything over $6,000,000 is dumb at this point. If he wants to follow the money to Arkansas, so be it. AU will be just fine.

It sounds to me that you are.

If you are talking about "Gus wanting to feel loved", do you believe everything you read on the internet? You are worse than the UGA fans who are constantly talking about the "WE beat the dog crap out of them" statement. Emotion and business have no place in the same room.

Stop being so emotional and give me your reasons like an adult.

So you believe Gus should just accept what he has now, not take the offer from Arkansas for 50 million and just be happy because Auburn is home?
