Not a shot at Luke, but knowing someone ‘inside the AD’ doesnt mean shite either....
I legit have a friend in the AD. Every last thing he’s ever told me has been inaccurate bullshite.

Have a hard time believing that, but I hope so.

All you can do is laugh at this point. Auburn University and it’s football program is run by a bunch of dumbfricks

After watching his press conference I really hope the guy can turn it around. I think with him calling plays it will add a little more pressure
I feel the same way. I have been very hard on Gus but I really like the person he is. Maybe this is what is needed and he can turn it around.

Oh man, I love it when someone calls someone a "boy." We got some badasses on here.

Its actually pretty simple. If he does not change back to "his" offense with the right players, he will not be successful. He will never be consistent doing what he is doing right now
It MUST be the first change he makes. It will allow him to be successful against programs that consistently out recruit him. It levels the playing field. Plus, he can not run a down field passing offense. It must be a 70/30 power run offense with a QB that can run the ball.

It would be nice if the team plays hard and the play calls are good in the bowl to set a tone. Compared to the other bowl performances.

This too is a problem it itself.
I think Gus' first 2 years back here, the league had trouble figuring out his offense, and we were quite successful.
But i felt and think others think this too, that as the SEC changed some of its rules to slow down the HUNH offense also some of the teams figured out ways to defend it better too.
I think that is why Gus' tried to change his offense so it wasn't so run heavy and tried to bring in more passing options. Why it was so successful last year, but this year it was terrible, not sure. I guess it was a very inexperience OL w not across the line SEC talent, as well as a very green RB core.
So if Gus is going back to the 60/40 or 70/30 run/pass split, I worry that we will go back to what we were in the 2015 and 2016 years.
...and we will still struggle on scoring and moving the ball on offense in 2019.

You really lost me. We had a capable running QB in 2010, 2013 sand 2014. No teams "figured it out" during those seasons. There was nothing to really figure out. Its a numbers game running the ball then opens up the passing lanes.
2015 and 2016 were just horrible QB play. Not a capable QB on the team. Had nothing to do with rule changes or other teams figuring anything out. We just did not have the correct personnel which is why we changed our offense to try and match that personnel.

As with most things in life it isn't a simple answer, but the slowing down of substitutions has hurt Gus. He has played faster in the past, but one thing he did in key moments that no longer can happen is waiting to sub on O late in the play clock once he saw the defensive personnel. It was something he did situational and usually to run a strike down the field type play...that aspect of his O has been completely neutered.
I do agree it mostly boils down to average to below average QB play and poor to average OL play.
