Going to end up a heck of a DL class. Height at buck, then Hardy, Walker, Allen, possibly Burks and Butler... and Pegues.

I know he only signed at Auburn cause they said he would get a shot at TE, where we have them stacked like cord wood, and Iggy says hey. The average size of an NFL TE is 254 lbs, his future is DT before its all over.

This is absolutely ridiculous. There is less than a 0 (ZERO) percent chance Auburn coaches wouldn't of held a spot for him. This isnt an unranked 2* that has to act fast and sign to reserve his spot. This is a top 100 type player who is a top 3 player in his state.

To suggest he had to sign to make sure he got his spot is patiently absurd.

Both have merit, not just the Height part.. And OF COURSE it is water under the bridge. We were on the winning side of that nonsense. If we were on the Miami side of that nonsense Auburn people would complain about it for YEARS

It's not that stacked. If we land Frazier we will have 5 guys for essentially 2 positions. Fromm & Pegues are likely HBs. Deal & Shenker are more blocking TEs. Frazier looks to be a guy that can be a true bodied TE with receiving skills.

It was a general statement of principle. Had nothing to do with his rating. He wanted to get his spot in December because AU pushed for it. The kid didn't want to go public because he wanted to be unselfish & do it with his team in February so AU was good with that.

Not what was suggested at all. Your ability to take 1 fact or part of a story & continually draw massively overblown & often times wrong conclusions is what's pathetically absurd.

If you read the article Jang posted you would know your opinion on Height's is the only one with merit. It's not Hardy's fault the UT staff is too dumb or unaware to check the NLI portal to see if he was listed.

True but again it's not relevant because the 2 situations aren't remotely comparable so it's not germaine to the Hardy discussion.

Out of all of those 4*s we have, those 2 3* JC OTs maybe the most vital piece to this class.

Brandon Frazier's OV went well & AU is in the top 2 but JLee is guessing Tech leads.

I was listening to a recruiting show on SiriusXM with the glasses wearing ESPN dude, I know screw ESPN, but he said he would be shocked if Pegues plays anything but the DL at Auburn and insinuated he would be special.

We have already offered couple more 2021 TEs. Last being Michael Trigg from Florida. The former from Colorado.

I have little doubt that Morris is influencing things for his offense.

He definitely uses them. Luckily we brought in Fromm and Deal in ‘19 to go along with Pegues. He’ll at least have a room to work with

I just watched his film and Pegues is crazy athletic. He would probably be special at DL. But at 6-2 285 with is athleticism,he would be a matchup nightmare for many LBs and anyone in the secondary. I want him at TE, flexed out at WR some AND running the wildcat QB. He might be unstoppable in short yardage situations.

The way Gus talked about him in the presser, it’d be hard to see him at anything other than TE

That is not what our insiders on here said a few weeks ago

Lets see where he ends up playing.

I guess I’m hoping for him to transition into an OT.

Gus was like a schoolgirl when talking about him in the NSD presser and was adamant he will play offense, so he will definitely get a legitimate look at TE/HB and probably some wildcat.

Could have been a little bit of a show, but he was the recruit that Gus lit up the most when talking about.

I don’t think he has the height or arm length to be an OT. His size and athleticism would make for one hellacious DT.

Do we even have insiders? I know Jones could be if he wanted to be like he was back in the day but I think he has chosen not to be. I’m not one. What insider do we have?

Regardless there is at least one connected to the program on another site that has said he will end up a DL.

Definitely not the height at 6’2.

When I was at Auburn I worked within the AD as a student on a broader financial analysis of Auburn athletic programs. But this was when Chizik was in charge and the football program liked having people around. I also lived with a scholarship student athlete so I generally either knew for certain which guys (recruiting) were on campus or the rumors of which guys were around.

A lot has changed since then. Social media is a different animal now and Gus (and every coach now) severely restricts access to the program and the athletes. From a fan’s perspective it seems paranoid but it’s to protect the players. These kids are high profile and they do the same stupid shite we all do at that age.

There’s no more insiders as best as I can tell. The network of office admin people has totally changed now. The football program, for the most part, gets to decide what’s leaked. I have zero inside knowledge of what’s going on in the program and I really haven’t since 2012. Honestly, even then things were beginning to change because of certain things that were getting out about players and coaches.
