Top prospects or not we can find better corners. Now if we were taking him at WR ok but he would be middle 3 star there.

Well we lost out on him, Lassiter, and Green. Thank God we have the 25th ranked juco.

Williams commits to UF.
I hope no one uses the "we have to keep Gus for recruiting" excuse cause that holds zero water.

Somewhat entertaining watching Gus crumble. Our resident clowns will be here to celebrate our win over Ole Miss.

It's what has to happen unfortunately, problem is the next guy is going to have a hard time cleaning up the mess.

How long before he blames the criticism for recruiting and ignore on field results?

I don’t think this excuse is used often. I mentioned a few pages back that in each class there are a couple of guys that really attach to Gus. Coincidentally, Williams happened to be one of them. Auburn’s only shot with Williams was Gus and that wasn’t even enough to keep him from going out of state.
It’s worth repeating: there’s nobody in this class that we can’t afford to lose. Losing Hunter, Goodwin, etc., would really suck but they’re not program changing recruits. So, from a recruiting standpoint, we can absolutely afford to can Gus.
Incoming freshman at this point have zero certainty that this staff will be there when they graduate. That’s a bad spot to recruit from

quote:I disagree with this part a little. Hunter and Robinson are must haves imo. Our DL needs lots of help, especially at DT. I think there's a good chance Hunter would start as a freshman and Robinson would be part of the rotation. I don't mean to imply we should keep Gus just for those 2 though.. I would hope if we got a new coach they would have enough sense to keep most of our defensive coaches which imo would be enough to keep those 2 locked in.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree, but I still don't think Gus needs to go yet(I am right on the fence though). New OC, new OL coach, new OL, OL didn't get to practice much.. I truly believe most of our struggles would have been figured out in OOC play in a normal year. Play design has been really good to me this year, OL is undeniably getting better, Bicknell is making ground on recruits for the future.... They might all still get fired, but the progress is there imo.

I used that line often, as it was true. Up to this point, I felt Gus ran a good program. You can only hide on field results for so long.

I have no problem with a counter as this. My concern is Gus still tries to run an O that is not successful at this level unless you have amazing talent like Bama. We need RPO zone read more than ever.

Watch out brother or he'll choke you out in 30 seconds. Just ask him and name the place.

Unless his real name is Khabib, I'm not worried.

Good news! We offered a grad transfer from Harvard today! Hey, if you can't get good players, get smart players!

Stop bringing me into discussions that I’m no part of.
I haven’t liked Koolaid for 2 years and it’s well documented here in the thread. Not a loss at all in my opinion. We will see if I’m correct on that opinion or not.
Y’all constantly bitch about not bringing something over from another board but when I defend my character to someone straight up lying about me I’m the bad guy. And here you are bringing shite up again. No threat intended but anyone that wants to roll I’m good to go anytime. It’s good to have live practice so someone doesn’t kill me if I’m not sharp.

Alright guys, let’s keep the sonic invitations to other threads
On topic of the grad transfer/Harvard kid, there’s a huge drawback with him. And the drawback is that he isn’t available to transfer until next summer. That puts him in a real hole if he wants to start by fall.
Tashawn Manning actually looked really good at LG Saturday and I’m pretty confident Keiondre Jones is going to lock down RG with Council out. Plus, Council will be back.
