There are too many "Was'" in those recruiting updates.

Auburn is trending down too much..but I guess with the way we played GA and Ark, they are seeing a struggling team..

Right now these guys don’t believe we can compete for championships. We need an aggressive, cocky HC that can go toe to toe against the big 3 that have convinced that is what they are doing every year ( Bama, Clem, UGA).

I know it’s tempting due to the product on the field but let’s try to keep this about recruiting and not head coach searching

That’s basically the whole rest of the board right now so let’s keep this thread clean There’s obviously Gus implications all over the place, especially for this class. But let’s keep the speculation for other threads and stick to the script here

I will say that the obvious lack of direction for the program and uncertainty of Gus’s future at Auburn puts us in a bad spot for top recruits.

I’ll also mention that none of the guys in this class are program-changing. There’s very few of these types of recruits in a class to begin with but there’s certainly none in this one

And as always, you guys don’t have to follow my request. Just a favor I’m asking

Agreed. The only “identity” we have right now is that we can’t develop offensive lineman which, whether true or not, is becoming self-fulfilling. Going to be really hard to get ourselves out of the hole we have dug on that front.

It’s torture having to deal with this topic for multiple years so we can at least keep one thread off limits. I agree with you.

Tenn fired their DL coach yesterday I think.. Remains to be seen if it has any affect though. One good thing right now is we are battling Tenn for a lot of guys and they are worse than us right now imo.

The Smael thing has been trending that way for a while. KN has been talking up Trevin Wallace a lot lately though and he's also really good. He's having a really good season too.

KN has also said for a while that Auburn would take Wallace and Mondon so it’s probably not one or the other.

Fair point on Tennessee. Not sure they’re good either and if that keeps up I’m not sure they have much of an advantage over Auburn in recruiting

The UT coach who got fired is Jimmy Brumbaugh... played DL in the late 90s for Bowden and Tubervilles first season, iirc.

Interesting too that he replaced an Auburn great Tracey Rocker who left to take a job with SC, who we lost to Saturday.

Strange to fire the DL coach, but not the DC...wonder what's with that?

Didn't mean to make it seem that way. More like KN probably knows which way this is headed and is moving on to talking about our new top LB target. I'm sure we won't stop recruiting Mondon though.

If he goes to UF then Gus needs to get fired the next day.
