Tennessee has released '21 OT J'Marion Gooch from his NLI. 6'8", ~350, one time Auburn commit. Does the new staff pursue?

Sounds like, from 247 and Rivals notes, Holden Geriner outperformed Gunner Stockton at the regional 7v7 in myrtle beach yesterday.

I'm not sure anyone said that about Geriner (I spell his name wrong every time). People who don't realize rankings haven't been updated worried about stars a little, but pretty much everyone agreed he has a lot of arm talent.

Your comment applies more to Gordon than Geriner imo.

From the videos I saw, and I'm not sure if it was just the angles or what, but Stockton looked kind of chubby to me.

Let’s hope so. 2 high school OTs in one class?!

KN said he doesn't think Auburn will pursue him.. I agree with the decision by the staff for this one too. He's huge, but he's very much a project.

I think Langlo is an OT. He’s listed as a OG, but he’s really long and athletic

Really talented kid that had a good season at WVU. Wants to be closer to home.

With 2 scholarships left it’s certainly interesting but the reality is that guys are going to leave after spring ball.

What if he moves to safety or nickel? Puckett and Tennison is about all we have at Nickel right now, right? I think I would rather start having a corner at nickel instead of the tweeners Steele liked. Plus we need help at safety as well.

I’m kinds crazy but I think 4 corners and a free safety is how I would design by defensive backs now. Way to much speed in conference to have essentially 3 safeties on the field and 2 corners. Just have to make sure you recruit corners willing to tackle and really hasn’t been an issue for AU in the past.

Article up on 247 about Shemar James. Alabama 247 guy put in a CB to Alabama for him a few months ago. He calls AU a big factor because it’s an in-state school. No commitment coming until he’s able to have visits.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Auburn does in state this year. It’s a talented class and Harsin and staff are in a tough spot as new coaches and no campus or in-person visits allowed

Corners don't tackle at any level or any league is why you don't do that IMO. To quote Alex Gibbs as OL coach for Denver while giving a film talk to Urban Meyer's staff at UF:

"Corners are just as big of pussies in our league (NFL) as they are in yours (SEC). They won't tackle and we design our wide zone so those pussies will have to provide run support."

For those that have not watched Alex Gibbs break down film, its both hilarious and very informatative:

Alex Gibbs breaks down film (In this video at the end, Gibbs says, "...we don't block corners, we block safties. They are as shitty of tacklers in our league as they are in yours.")

Is there any idea that this may be lifted later? Or is this just a hard rule for the entire cycle?

No indication yet but it doesn’t have to be for the whole cycle. That said, it’s currently through May 31st
