Grant Calcaterra not coming to Auburn after all. Apparently he wanted to be used as a blocking TE by Gus.

That sucks. 3* 2022 DB just decomitted, too.

Dayne Shorr. I posted the update on the previous page.
Other OL notes:
Auburn has reached out to ‘22 OT Riley Quick. His brother, Pierce, went to Alabama. No offer made yet
Auburn also offered ‘22 4* OT Josh Connerly from Seattle

Quick is a huge bammer. No way he comes to AU unless Pierce (brother at bama) is felt he's being slighted at bammer. Riley is pretty good but no where near a 4star and very thin. He is fairly strong. Unless he packs on muscle over the next year he would be probably a possible chance to play RT as a redshirt sophomore true junior. I've seen this kid play since he was 6 years old. Not trashing him but very immature and a little crazy.

quote:Weird situation. We clearly would use a TE more now than under Malzahn. Maybe Harsin decided we already have enough TE on the roster

JBOY actually heavily predicted him to Auburn

Morris was the reason why Calcaterra chose Auburn I believe

Who is this Jboy character I keep hearing about. I know he has a Podcast, but does he have any cred or insider info? Ot is he just another podcaster so bought some podcasting equipment?
Posted on 1/9/21 at 8:36 pm to TailbackU
Jake Crain, his dad played at AU, he was a college player and coach, he might have some inside info but not tons

Jboy claims to have been the first guy to know when Shariffe was cleared. He probably does have sources; he interviews recruits all the time after all. He tends to brag about his nearly immaculate record when we all know he has probably supplemented paywall information into his predictions 90% of the time.
Jboy just released a podcast featuring Sean White. We are blessed to have podcasts like that.

I’m a fan of his guests. They make his podcast tolerable. I just don’t think he’s nearly connected as he acts like he is.
Also his immaculate record is because he usually waits until everyone and their mother is confident a recruit is going to commit before he “locks it in.”

Whenever I think of JBoy I think of his commitment to Mario Cristobal. That alone tells me what I need to know.

I think Auburn had a good shot at getting Mario. Oregon just stepped up and gave him a nice raise. That is the problem with going after a P5 HC.

For those of us who don’t pay for any subscriptions, I honestly don’t give a shite where he gets his info from - the reality is that he is usually correct and I am just happy to get those predictions for free on Twitter.

What's with the unnecessarily snarky comment? Sean White was actually interesting to listen to in his first appearance on his podcast. It's always interesting to hear from former players, but maybe that's just me. The Jarraud Powers podcast was great as well; dude played in the NFL and had some interesting stories to tell. Whether or not you want to buy into Jboy's "insider information" is one thing, but he actually manages to pull in consistently interesting guests.

You misread my comment.
I totally agree with this:

CSB, but Phillip Dukes (DukesTheScoop) and Smael Mondon took in a lot of donations (money and clothes) for the homeless in ATL. He’s a normal guess on the Jboy podcast and updated Smael Mondon’s recruitment a lot through the year.
