How does he get the swagger back?

He played decent as a freshman.
I thought with development he had a chance to be a 10ppg or more guy.

Don’t see it now.

He is the same player he's always been. Just not as good as everyone wants to believe

Can he raise his level or is it hopeless?

He seems to be improving. He’s at least showing effort on defense. Just gotta learn to think on offense.

No shite. He’s got almost 2 years of rust. He’s going to be fine it just takes a while and he hasn’t played a lot consistently yet. Hard to come back after that long a break and start with conference play.

Well don’t forget he couldn’t knock off his rust while up 15 against a&m.

He was never anything more than a spot up shooter. Appears that's still the case.

That's not an uncommon condition on this team.

Found a thread from the 2016-2017 Basketball Season.
Non-conference Schedule MVP for AU Basketball

Purifoy seems lazy at times. Takes the quick 3. Doesn't try to get to the basket. Little defense. He's very frustrating. Zeroforwinger

I hope last night was the turning point for Purifoy. For the first time he played with the kind of effort and attention to detail on defense that will get him some more minutes to show his gifts on the other end of the floor. He could really provide some punch to the bench scoring wise if he can keep that up and his conditioning continues to improve.

I don't think I was far off. Hard to believe during the offseason most of us, myself included, thought we could lose a 5 star in production and cruitin rankings and not miss a beat.

I'll go with Heron. Harper is a solid choice too but I think Heron has been more consistent and impacts the game in more ways. If Purifoy played any defense at all he would deserve to be prominent in the conversation too

I stand by that. The talent is there, which is the frustrating part. If he matures, sky is the limit.

I thought last night was big for Purifoy. He got some good minutes and like you said, wasn’t a complete liability on defense. Looked like he was finally having some fun out there.
