Considering that this has happened to at least three starting QBs under Gus while at Auburn, it might not just be Stidham.

name them.

Stidham hates the pocket. He has a bunch of work to overcome that fear. As soon as the DE's pushed past him, he'd bounce outside, rarely step up into the pocket.

Three MSU players taken in 1st round. Think about it. Our lack of recruiting elite players, finding underated hs recruits, and player development all reflect our mid- late round history.

In the SEC only Vandy and Auburn have failed to produce a 1st round pick in the last 5 years.

I don’t buy into this.

We had 3 players go in the 2nd last season. I think we’re top 10 for guys on NFL rosters, too. Clearly we’re evaluating, recruiting, and developing NFL talent.

Some of our most successful guys in years past haven’t fit a prototypical NFL mold - especially for the first round. Thinking about Lawson, Monty, Holland, etc. Davis will fall into this group as well. All are elite, All-SEC and all-American players but not exact fits in the NFL.

The other SEC teams have gotten rid of their dead weight HCs in the past 5 years. Auburn hasn't

Stidham was restricted by his on inability to deal with any kind of pressure. I can’t imagine a more complex offense would have done him any favors. He needed an all American o line

Its bad when we have not had a first round draft pick, in what, 5 years...but Alabama State even gets a first round draftee ahead of us...

...and yes... I know we have an excellent chance of getting a first round AU player next year, barring something bad happening..

You’re telling me we are competing for the SEC without top NFL players?

They had a player drafted before like 10 other SEC schools as well. That doesn’t matter. Kids develop late and catch fire throughout the country no matter the classification.

I’d like to stop the streak too but it’s not like Carlton Davis and others leaving early helped that cause.

Having 4-6 guys drafted each year matters as much as a 1st rounder every once in a while. It'd be nice to have one yearly like a few other schools, but Gus can't recruit at that level.

Stidham is his own worst enemy. The sub par OL hurt him, but that OL in 2017 wasn't much better but he had a 1st/2nd round talent RB taking the focus off him.
