Oh no, we're so screwed! We lost our ~150 yard receiver who was being paid impact-player money!

Where will we find a replacement for that type of production?

Money won’t buy instant success (as we saw this year). But it’s definitely a necessity in this day and age.

I feel like he wasn't grasping the system well under freeze, which I can understand, they put him in for a lot of TE sets, and finally seemed to get used at the Vanderbilt game. We all know Cam has a future in the NFL that is marquee we don't want to lose

Agreed. People are also acting like Perry was a big time producer which he wasn't

Is it possible we’re sending him on his way?

He’s a good talent but certainly a let down considering what Coleman has done. I imagine PT is getting a good chunk of our NIL money as a five star recruit.

What if Golesh told him he’s got too much of stone hands and feet to run his fast offense?

Many times it seemed like Perry was going half-mass

Yes, it is 100% possible that Golesh is purging overpaid players from the roster. As he should.

You can't keep paying players "5-star NIL money" when they turn out to be depth players at best.

And how many 5* WRs has Auburn signed in the past 20 years?

Duke Williams

Trovon Reed was very highly rated.

Remember DeAngelo Benton?

It hasn't mattered who Auburn has signed, everybody has underperformed once they step onto campus

Not to mention Nate Craig Meyers

We were paying him a lot of $ to contribute very little. That means more money for another impact player. Maybe we can use that money to get Ousmane Kromah from FSU bc I know he wanted to come to AU.

Nathan King had a write up on him. He said during the off-season the coaches had asked him to bulk up and play tight end. Ive always thought his best position would to be as a hybrid TE. I don't think he has the wiggle to play wr

Yall act like this offense had big time producers anywhere. The biggest dysfunction on offense was the adults running it, not the kids.

WR in general is a pretty low hit rate.

these guys and acting like it’s nothing is baffling. We don’t have the kind of depth some of you think we do.

I must be confused, do we only have players portal out and we aren’t able to get players to portal in? That doesn’t seem fair.

I have literally never seen this Mlove guy on this board here before this thread. I really think it is Mike G based on some of these sentiments.

Mlove, let me guess you didn’t want Golesh? Are you a Freeze supporter? Or Sumrall? Or just a constant pessimist?

Duke Smith > Perry Thompson

Duke is raw like Perry was but Duke will have more receptions earlier in his playing career then Perry.

I wish Perry the best where ever he goes. The little story they did on him from his recruiting experience and when Marcus and Freeze showed up and he lived in a run down trailer or house without water and electricity you have to cheer for someone like that. I always will.

No player is irreplaceable. ROI is what the team needs now. Perry's class will be juniors next season. It's time for wins to come from that investment.

If cam leaves yall can call me what you want but I’ll be off Auburn football for a few years. The writing will have been on the wall at that point and we will have hired Harsin 2.0. It’s already trending that way.

I’m not sure what we have just yet, but damn this is hilarious.
