Gatewood has earned the coaches trust back, his jersey back, and is a real threat to win the starting job- BM

Nix is playing as good as any freshman that’s arrived at Auburn per an Auburn coach. -PM

I hope Gatewood earns the top spot. He looks (physically) like the type of QB Gus could really use right now.

But I also hope either way both he and Nix get significant playing time, and not just hand offs.

I have to think the Oline will be better (it looked better to me near the end of last year), but whoever the backup is needs to be ready to go if the starter gets shaken or God forbid, injured.

We are going to be super thin at DT this year. I knew this, but watching the DL drill it just hit me again

I think Newkirk is out with a hurt foot, starting to wonder if he will ever be healthy, I sure hope so, he certainly has tried long enough.

That could also mean he was lazy as hell to begin with.

You’re both right. It was reported that the coaching staff was concerned with his work ethic. Recently Garner praised his off the field work ethic to his HS coach.

Can’t figure out why being fat is a bad thing for a DL though.

Can we discuss what kind of season Will Hastings will have? He has to be hungry after being out last year.

I noticed Will had a huge knee brace on in the practice video.

Probably due to not wanting to risk it after the big surgery, I guess. Either way, I hope he balls out!

Looked more Gabe Wright fat. He looked like he moved well, so it may just be some of how he carries weight. Who knows.

Nothing against Will but I really hope with all the talent we have at WR now that we don't see a lot of Will Hastings.
