Sounds like the majority are saying:

Tega,Horton,Kim/Brahms,Harell, Driscoll

I think we will find out very quickly if center is settled, I think it will be Brahms. When Dunn went down I think it spoke volumes that we started shifting around the line instead of just bringing in Kim.

But what if neither stand out at center, what then?

Hasnt Horton played some center? I think Brahm's wins the job if hes healthy. I actually like that lineup from a potential standpoint. Could end up being a really good line, but they are going to have to really learn on the job. Driscoll could end up being an MVP type player due to his experience. We just need him to be steady and bring a veteran attitude to the OL.

I think he an Trox were battling, and Driscoll may have come in and stolen the spot. Maybe JD will light a fire under CA and he will play more consistently.

Horton can slide over to center if needed. Pretty sure he worked there some during bowl practice though Grimes doesn't like moving guys around

FWIW saw the other day from Jay Tate that Kim is the superior pass blocker & leader while Brahms is better run blocker. He thinks Kim will get the nod due to more reliance on the pass with Stidham (at least early in the year) & fact that Kim seems more confident making calls. That's just from one person tho...

I am REALLY excited about Driscoll. I think that's gonna end up being a huge steal for us. Means both Ashley & Troxell aren't gonna be asked to take over maybe before they are ready. Would not be surprised if Ashley got flipped to LT & started working behind Tega for the future. I'm interested to see who the 6th blocker will be. Ashley, Troxell or one of the plethora of guards?

Our OL stands between a 2013 type season and 2012 type season. Really hard to predict how good they will be. If Tega can’t figure out the different blitz schemes then we could be in big trouble. I was REALLY hoping for one more grad transfer on the O-line.

Driscoll stays at right tackle. Auburn then has the ability to move Calvin Ashley back to left tackle — the position he was originally recruited to play — and give him more development there, or a chance to challenge Prince Tega Wanogho for playing time. Austin Troxell stays at right tackle and develops there.
Driscoll moves to left tackle, which pushes Wanogho to right tackle. Ashley can develop behind Driscoll at left tackle.
Driscoll kicks inside to a guard position, which allows a current guard — most likely Mike Horton — to move to the all-important center position.

It's like beating a dead horse for me, but all the talk of QB issues in 2015 and 2016. All the talk about the D in 2014. IMO the one constant, obvious issue that was masked by racking up tons of yardage against inferior DL opponents was how bad the OL played.

Red zone issues...OL

Short yardage issues...OL

Sack issues...OL

Horton and Harrell both played at an SEC level IMO last year. I expect that to continue.

Tega had flashes where it seemed the light came on, but he struggled as well. I wish we would have let him play through the struggles. But Hand loved to shuffle. I am cautiously optimistic.

Center worries me, but not terribly. Surely among all that talent we can find a kid to play center.

Right tackle is a huge concern. I don't know what to make of the inability of someone to lock down the position. Most assume competition is a good thing, I general assume it means you don't have a true SEC caliber player at the position and your searching for straws. The transfer might prove huge, but I expect him to be similar to Golson. Good enough to play, but not the level we need to beat the big boy defenses. I honestly hope I am wrong.

I think this is the guy who will decide it. IF he steps up, we should be Ok. That outside position is very important to a Gus offense.

He "should" be ready. We will see

My Dream line up would be if Driscoll played Center and we plugged in Ashley at RT.

LT Tega
LG Horton
C Driscoll
RG Harell
RT Ashley

6 Sharp/Brahms

Can Driscoll play center? Is he too big? What would be the issues with putting him at that position?

Has he ever played center? Could he make all the calls as a first year transfer

Thats what im asking to be honest. Does the transistion to Center have more to do with ability or experience? Seems like we already been plugging randoms at center anyway in the past years.

Lots of praise for Driscoll so far. Spending extra time in the film room to pick up the offense, working out hard, and a quick learner. Hope it translates to the field.

Driscoll has already played 5 games at LT or RT against SEC opponents.

Gotta keep him at tackle

Honestly, we shouldn't have to rely on grad transfers.

Honestly, we wouldn't have to if Hand didn't bone us.

Hyperbole much?

Now if you had posted 'our OL stands between a 2013 type season and 2017 type season' I would have heartily agreed.

I could point out that the 2012 OL and the 2013 OL were made up of the exact same guys, save for one Alex Kozan (who was technically on the team in '12 but redshirting), but your analogy was already wrong enough, so I won't mention it...
