Jared Harper

Or are the results of the last 2 games biasing me?

Probably. He killed it the last two, and I don't remember him sucking in any prior games. I can't wait to see a game where two or three of our guys are playing at a high level in the same game. Coastal doesn't count because they suck.

I would agree. He had a bad day against BC I believe but he's the reason we even had a shot against UAB. He's starting to become more of a creator for other guys as well. He's been our most consistent player imo

I'll go with Heron. Harper is a solid choice too but I think Heron has been more consistent and impacts the game in more ways. If Purifoy played any defense at all he would deserve to be prominent in the conversation too.

Heron for me too.

Purifoy seems lazy at times. Takes the quick 3. Doesn't try to get to the basket. Little defense. He's very frustrating.

Purifoy is playing himself into more seasons at Auburn.

Heron for me too. He's quietly getting almost 16 PPG and leading the team in RPG. He's been our most consistent player IMO, and we desperately need that consistency on this team.

This is what happens when you lead the team in possession % and shots by an incredibly large margin.

Heron has struggled a ton vs good competition and is no where near the value of Harper/Purifoy at this point

Heron has shot 33% or worse in 5 games this year, that isn't consistent and considering his volume is a huge liability

Yea, Purifoy has been so valuable the last two (Edit: scratch that 3) games (2 against good competition).

Edit: Everyone on our team has struggled to shoot consistently at some point or another. Harper possibly being the only exception.

Heron has been far more valuable than Purifoy.

Are you sure about that?Purifoy is killing him in Player efficiency rating and offensive efficiency rating

Purifoy has nearly double the assists, half the turnovers, better eFG% and more clutch FT shooter

Heron has gotten almost all of his stats against the subpar opponents we've faced. He hasn't been great against anyone with a pulse

Yes.

Efficiency numbers are similar. Purifoy is a little better. Herron plays on both ends and plays with a much greater iq.

Eta: I did like the way Purifoy hit the boards in the last game.

Yea, I don't have everyone's PER in front of me when I'm talking about this personally Has this been updated to include yesterdays game? I'd imaging going 1-10 and 1-6 from 3 didn't help his efficiency. Purifoy has been very good (minus the last 3 games), but he's one dimensional a lot of the time. He needs to develop more of a game than a 3 point shooter. I loved that he was getting boards last night and hope that he continues to do more work on the glass.

Heron takes his shots driving to the basket or in rhythm of the offense. Purifoy takes too many bad shots and slacks too often on D. Purifoy has done better on the defensive end in the last few games.

Why are you talking about?

Heron is where the rhythm of our offense goes to die. It is a black hole where Heron decides to go Kobe volume shooting with Kobe success

He has a ton of potential and flashes greatness, but the kids refusal to pass hinders our offense

Heron shoots 3s on kick outs and when the ball is swung to him. Purifoy pulls up contested early in the shot clock. Heron drives under control and hits pull ups and gets fouls at the rim. Purifoy drives out of control and gets a charge. Heron attacks the glass, Purifoy, until recently, didn't. Herron plays sound D without fouling, Purifoy doesn't (though he is showing improvement).

Eta: Herron only has 7 more shots than Purifoy and is shooting at a higher percentage from the field and from 3.

Lets pump the breaks on this Dale before you run into a wall

-Heron has more player control/charge fouls than Purifoy
-Purifoy has a better 2FG% than Heron
-Purifoy 3pt% is .384 Heron is .385 so basically the same
- Purifoy averages >1 assist per game over Heron
-Purifoy averages less fouls per minute than Heron by a decent margin
-Purifoy has more steals per game than Heron
-Purifoy has a significantly better KenPom offensive rating than Heron

Once you get past Heron padding his stats against subpar competition, you realize he has a ton of areas for needed growth
