Assuming that the PTB do what is necessary and pull the plug on this miserable, failed experiment, who should we hire?

Not gonna happen. We're not going to pay the buyout.

Oh god what is his buyout? Jay Jacobs and buyouts. What. The. Frick.

Signed through 2017 at $750k per year if we were to fire him.

Jay Jacobs will find an Auburn man...that's for sure. Auburn man = losing

I believe the phrase is "a man of character and integrity".

Good grief, does that go down at all over the next few years? What a moron Jacobs is.

Didn't look like it from the article I found.

ouch... so four more years on his contract?.... $3 million. That's pretty substantial, when you consider what it would take to bring someone in.

Yep, especially for basketball at Auburn. Everyone better just get used to Barbee being around.

Frick an AU man, hire an assistant from the BIG10 I'm ready to see fundamentaly sound bball. I don't care if he recruits 2* white guys. If they can shoot, play defense, and not turn the ball over 20x a game I will be happy.

I'd like to see Donnie Tyndall, a man we interviewed in 2010, hired.

I sure as hell don't think a guy like Chuck Person could be doing any worse.

Well then, if my math is right, that would be $3 million.
And $3 million in this day and age is chump change.

Just my opinion that Barbee gets another year no matter what. I know ppl are pissed right now, and rightfully so, but 3 years isn't long enough considering what Barbee inherited.

Haaaaahahahahahahaha!!!
I remember the days in Barbee's first two years when the weak-minded Auburn fans insisted "GODDAMZ!!! U MEAN THAT DUMASS JAY JACOBS HASNUT SIGNED THAT BARBELL TO A DAMN CONTRACT YET??!?!? WHAT THE frick??!?!!?"
Now, he's signed to a contract and its "GODDAMZ!!! U MEAN THAT DUMASS JAY JACOBS SIGNED BARBELL TO A CONTRACT AND NOW IF WE FIRE HIM WE'Z GOT TO PAY IT??!?!? WHAT THE frick??!?!!?"

Meh, I disagree. I don't think we'd do it based on that.

At some point you have to stop blaming someone. It's been 3 years since Jeff Lebo was here. Basketball is the easiest sport to rebuild with, and Tony Barbee hasn't cut it. We've been absolutely abysmal since he's been here. We were mediocre with Lebo, but this is just a shitshow, plain and simple. After three years, you know how good a basketball coach is. There's been no development at all and the program the past three years has been the worst it's ever been. Barbee and Auburn were just never a good match, in my opinion.

On a completely unrelated note, Kenny Gabriel did a better job in dunk contests than these NBA guys are doing.
