It was a Bryan Matthews Monday musings article I believe.

Williams deserves a lot of credit for not just recruiting Bigsby, but also in helping to convince Gus Malzahn to make what I consider is a vital change in how he uses his running backs. If Malzahn sticks to his plan, Auburn will be going with a running back by committee approach this season and into the future, instead of trying to ride one running back to 1,200, 1,400 or more yards. Auburn’s top rivals such as Alabama and Georgia have been doing this a while now and it’s given them a recruiting advantage.

Young running backs know they only have so many carries, so many hard hits that they can safely take in their career, and entering the NFL as fresh and healthy as possibly has become more important to them than putting up record-breaking numbers. The committee approach also helps build depth and an esprit de corps among the group as well. It’s the right move, and now it’s up to Malzahn and his offensive coaches to ensure it’s applied successfully this season.

I would be surprised if he was as fast as Nick Marshall.

Who knows. I googled it and some articles said he ran a 4.48 in spring practice at Bama, but that didnt sound right either. He don’t run 4.85 for sure though.

do think he will have very similar mobility behind the line of scrimmage as Baker.

The stats I heard that blew my mind about Bo were:

1. He didn’t take a sack his entire SR year, only 2 intentional grounding.

2. Over 2000 yards on 250 carries. 8 yards per carry is bad arse, if he can get half that we will do well. Averaging 50 yards a game will be soo frustrating to a defense.

gosh Cam is a freak. I went back and watched some of the 2010 games. I knew he was automatic on short down and distances, but I forgot just how dominant he was in converting them.

I honestly dont remember not converting on 3rd and short with Cam running the ball.

Man Baker Mayfield was a serious stud. We need to pump the brakes a little.

Well of course Baker is a stud that's why I had the qualifier of only being similar in pocket mobility and mobility behind the LOS. Baker is a stud because he has that plus incredible awareness and accuracy, as well as top notch confidence.

Disappointing vert based off his 40 and 20 yd shuttle. Would expect at least 34-35"

Why taper expectations bruh?

You’re still going to have the same life if it doesn’t turn out positive this season. Besides, being really high on the team gets opposing fans all rustled.

40 times in the combine are typically 0.1-0.2 seconds slower than hand -timed 40s during college and highschool.

Cam, Nick, and Manziel all ran ~4.5 in college.

But hey let’s not let that get in the way of our unbridled optimism on the new qb.
