I think they measure it as close to the combine as anyone. Or in other words, those times are typically slower than the hand times we see reported everywhere else. That’s across the board, too. Height, weight, all of that stuff is well measured there

That’s what I thought you meant but damn, those times are great.

At one time ESPN said Stidham ran a 4.66.

He ran a 4.81 at the Combine.

What was his at the Opening?

The Opening camps as they’re assembled now may not have been around when he was coming up in high school. It’s been the last two years probably that I’ve seen The Opening camp numbers emerge

Baker Mayfield ran a 4.81. Manziel ran a 4.68. Stidham ran a 4.81.

Straight line speed is one thing, but Manziel and Mayfield seemed to have quicker footwork than Stidham. They could get one or two extra steps in while keeping their eyes downfield and allowing a receiver to separate.

I’m hoping Nix is some version of Nix/Manziel, minus the immaturity of Mayfield and the crack-cocaine problem of Manziel.

Not saying he will be the player Baker is but looking at measurables, high school video, and knowing he's a coaches son who has been playing QB his entire life, I do think he will have very similar mobility behind the line of scrimmage as Baker.

Stidham was no DT QB at all. He’s the cautionary tale of seeing DT and assuming it.

I see Nix being more like Shea Patterson than Baker but that is just me. If I’m right, we are going to be happy with it.

The defense gives us an opportunity to break in a true freshman QB. I also like the RB by committee approach by Cadillac. It’ll help prevent Gus from running one guy into the ground and gives us the RB depth we were missing in the SECCG in 2017.

Man Baker Mayfield was a serious stud. We need to pump the brakes a little.

I read too many twitter’s, articles, and boards to say specifically where I read it, but I believe I saw that Boobie is the lead horse, and Shivers, Joiner, Martin, and DJ are going to see plenty of carries.

I remember reading that Cadillac has done a great job of selling them on RB by committee. No clue where I read it though.

Also, Jalen Hurts doesn’t run a 4.85 lol. More like 4.55

It was a Bryan Matthews Monday musings article I believe.

I would be surprised if he was as fast as Nick Marshall.
