I would say RIP, but our program has been dead since 2003...

This whole fiasco makes me uneasy about Leath and how he will handle the AD hire.

You didn't say anything about Pearl, you said the AD. He's played it perfectly if you ask me, hire a third party law firm to investigate and conclude facts. Given he walked right into this mess I'd say he's done a solid job handling it all, especially the media.

Basically, he concluded as soon as he walked into this mess that BP was going to have to be cleaned out --deserved or not.

Just caught up.

Doesn't sound like anything new happened aside from not making a decision on iron bowl week?

Yeah, basically. Nothing new except that Leath is really weird and the lack of real action on this is to the detriment of everyone involved. Heck, I love BP.. but I'd rather him have canned him day 1 as opposed to the way this is being strung out. (Especially since it seems inevitable at this point anyways)

Are we sure? Leath isn't a stranger to audits and investigations. He's been through the ringer. Seems like he'd make sure he had something concrete rather than cleaning house. I hope CBP is retained.

Except that is what Leath/Samford publicly are stating, not what they are actually doing. I've talked to a couple people in the AD and they said that any basketball decision is going through Samford Hall / JJ/AU AD has no leverage right now.

So it is extremely confusing when the following comes out

1- NCAA/FBI are satisfied/okay with what Bruce is doing but Auburn is threatening to fire him if he doesn't ignore his attorney's legal advice (which may not even be legal)

2- Auburn has refused to allow Bruce/Staff to have a "mini" attorney vetted questionnaire to at least give Auburn something

3- "Leaks" about Bruce's refusal to cooperate come from AU/AD. These leaks ignore the complex legality issues of AU's request + clearly designed to spin this against Bruce

4- Auburn has suspended (w/ pay) minor staff members for "confidential" reasons, won't officially tell staffers + lawyers then turns around and leaks "Involvement with Person investigation" . Which they still won't confirm to them (heard this from good firend of VanderHulst's he still doesn't even know what he did wrong or how he is involved)

5- Auburn players (Wiley/Purifoy) from multiple reports seem to be ready to be cleared by NCAA and Auburn is supposedly the one dragging their feet on this.

That all makes sense, but why the would Leath and the rest not roll with the FBI concluding CBP knew nothing? Leath doesn't seem like the type to clean house, he was flying the ISU jet for himself while he was the president

Three weeks since the article and CBP is still here. Maybe the new AD will be a basketball fan and keep CBP.

I don't think legally Auburn can fire Bruce for not cooperating is their problem. You'd have to ask a lwayer but I'd imagine even buying out contract in this situation may put them in hot water

From my understanding, Auburn thinks they are in the right legally. It isn't such a sure bet as to risk it though

Honestly, that seems to be Samford's strategy. Get the fans/boosters so fed up that they'll accept firing Bruce if it means it is all over
