FWIW Horton said that right now he's the starting running back. Could change over the offseason & in fall camp
quote:

“Obviously we don’t play today and so, is he going to start against Washington?” Horton said outside a booster club event in Jackson County. “That kinda remains to be seen but Kam would be first-team if we played today.”

Would love to see him succeed tho. Seems like a good kid & he's got that extra gear where he could take it to the house on any play. Just not sure he's got the bulk to handle 25+ carries a game

I have no doubt he has the talent to be an effective and explosive back in this league, just not sure how much of the load he can carry himself.

Idk about that, but Shaun Shivers is the second coming of Darren Sproles

I kind of figured Kam would have been in a Omac role and not the every down back, remains to be seen.

Whoever we plug in at RB is gonna get 1k yards. Call me crazy but i'd rather here Jarrett is gonna be healthy enough and be our starting QB

They must put something in that Ohio water that causes them to have such bad takes

Years where our starting RB played in every game they were on the team for (lulz '11 Dyer)

2009 - Ben Tate (13g)

2010 - Michael Dyer (14g)
2010 - OMac (14g)

2011 - Michael Dyer (12g, left before bowl)
2011 - Omac (13g)

2013 - Tre Mason (14g)
2013 - Corey Grant (14g)
2013 - CAP (14g)

2014 - CAP (13g)
2014 - Corey Grant (13g)

2015 - Peyton Barber (13g)

I mean it pretty much is. The quotes are more like “He’s the starting runningback but I don’t want him to quit working so obviously he can still lose his spot”

However, we all know Gus’ workhorse isn’t determined till game 4ish though

“The one thing that I do know about the running backs that we’ve had in the past is they’ve all been 210 pounds, 215 pounds. Well, Kam Martin is 195. And so I don’t know that answer,” Horton said. “I think, and we’ve wanted to do this the last couple of years but it just hasn’t worked out, is we want to play more than one guy. But obviously as the coach you’ve got to play your best guy and so hopefully this will be a year we can keep people healthy and play two or three or four guys. I sure hope so.”

God I hope so. At least get two RB's on the field at the same time for some misdirection. Something.

Happy for Martin. Kid deserves it. He has a knack for finding big plays.

I just liked the expression of the young woman as she is slightly shaking hers back and forth.

He should be well rested for this season, since GusShortBus barely gave him any carries last year
