That part of your comment gives me hope.

I wish we had seen him more this year. Hopefully he stays injury free over the spring and summer so we can see him in action.

Just gonna be honest here, but those highlights look no better than Jeremy Johnson's.

It was a short clip but he isn’t even the same kind of QB as Jeremy Johnson was for Auburn, or his high school. Gatewood needs refinement, but the skill and ceiling is up there. Bad thing is he has a high ceiling in another position as well and our coaches may not be patient with him. If we move him, I believe he transfers.

LINK

Here's a link to his last run at the Music City Bowl. Has some nice wheels!

Johnson had better accuracy than Gatewood, but can you really not see the difference in athletic ability?
Johnson ran like an awkward giraffe and he played scared. Gatewood has the size, speed, power and elusiveness to be really dangerous

Agree that he looks like the better athlete.. still not enough there to get me excited, though. Granted, I've got PTSD from the ghosts of hyped Auburn QB's past.

Understandable about the PTSD on our QBs

I agree. But the one thing that I'm not worried about is, Gatewood won't be a deer in the headlights like JJ. Kid doesn't lack in confidence

I think this goes for pretty much all of our QBs (good thing). Willis might have too much of it though. One of the biggest pros for Nix is every event he goes to people y’all about him being a leader and guys gravitating towards him.

Anyone starting next year besides Gatewood or Nix would be a surprise to me.

That was a TD and you will not get me with that. I am staying calm and level headed about Gatewood.

Jang, Nix with a throw to Gatewood, a throw back to Nix TD. Next series Gatewood takes the throw and runs TD. Gatewood in the backfield runs left pass to Schwartz for a TD. Ah the chillbumps, the chillbumps. Please dont waste this guy's career.
