Are we just completely incompetent in the AD? Hell Charles Barkley would make a better AD then anyone in there it seems like

shite I don't think Sir Charles would be half bad

so we're trading the devil we know for the one one we don't...at least based on rumor.

I still think Mac Crawford being on the search committee was a way to introduce him and get people knowing his name before he's named AD.

I guess

I've never heard anything bad about the guy outside of The Bunker, so I'm not sure how accurate that information is.

That is probably just some bullshite to explain why Gus would fire Troop. It just doesnt make sense for Gus to keep him IMO, other than holding on the top recruits we got. Gus will just have to do the work himself for right now.

a Rich McGlynn power move.

Not sure what to think about that.

I think if Rich McGlynn told me to do something, I'd say absolutely with a smile on my face.

I think it is great Gus is bringing in his people and therefore only he can be held accountable. No excuses if it doesn't work. I sure as hell hope it works.

Some people on Das Boonker are saying this wasn't GM's decision, but rather a Rich McGlynn power move. Not sure what to think about that.

You should think that is awesome!

Damn straight. Rich McGlynn is one of our biggest assets. One of the best directors of compliance in the country.

Most logical explanation

But just for the sake of playing along. Our compliance director told our coach to not re-hire/retain our recruiting director. Trooper giving him too much work to do?

Not really directed at you when I post this. At face value, this looks like Gus getting people on the offensive side that buys into and knows his system. The question is if they can recruit. I don't think this is someone telling Gus what to do.

oh i don't buy that bunker excuse for a second.

And certaily after the hoopla about "complete control" problems with the last regime we wouldn't start telling the coach who to hire on day 3 of his tenure.

Releasing him right now will kill our recruiting.

Scott Reeves Tweet

@ScottR334: I am so pissed! I can't believe Coach Troop was let go. I also KNOW that this wasn't Coach Malzahn's decision. Thanks Jay and Rich!
