Of past players... Can we not get anyone else to work with him? I’m afraid when things turn south and the $&@$ hits the fan we will be burning bridges with our own. Let’s face it, we love them for their contributions on the field at AU but it doesn’t mean they are qualified to coach at this level.

The good ol’ appeal to authority fallacy. Besides, aren’t most coaches previous players?

Who would want to work for a micro-manager who who can't score tds?

Most here were butthurt over D. Craig leaving (still not sure why.) Turns out he was probably correct.

Grimes is qualified and nobody wants him here. Horton was qualified and nobody wanted him here either.

Looking forward to your next narrative, Luke.

It's almost impressive that you're a worse poster than jville.

To me it is indicative of a coach that does not really know how to run a big time program. He's paranoid and is seeking loyalty from his staff. I love Cadillac and the hope it works out, and us landing MAR is a good start.

But look at his roster management... We've got stud talent everywhere except for the ONE place we need it. It's like building your dream house with a fantastic sun room and a beautiful master suite without floors

You may be, but your incessant use of the "Gus short bus" thing just makes you come across as a fricking idiot.

Gus is a guy entering his 7th season of managing a big time program. If he had it all figured out, we'd have a few national championships and he probably wouldn't be here anymore...

So far, he has proven to be a slightly above average coach. That's okay and that ranks him among the majority of Power 5 coaches. Auburn overpaid the guy and he will be scrutinized at every turn because of it. WDE!

By most accounts DC is a good coach and recruiter (never mind the rumors about personality clashes). With that said, our receiver corps seems to be performing at a higher level under Kodi.

Any other school would love to have Rodney Garner on staff. He can recruit AND coach.

You could make an argument that Steele is as good a DC if not better, than Muschamp, who is viewed as a top tier DC.

Travis Williams will be a HC one day. Our linebackers are playing with an edge I haven’t seen in years.

Porter and Brown have solid resumes and seem to do well. Maybe someone else can chime in on how well they’ve recruited and how they’ve been as position coaches.

Dillingham and Caddy TBD. And finally Grimes. Yes, we’ve recruited OL poorly under him, but I do believe he can develop talent.

Sure, we have young coaches and those who played at AU, but other than Grimes, I don’t see any terrible coaches. And I’m fine with former players on staff. They are going to be invested more than someone else. And if Gis gets canned and they lose their job, it’s part of coaching - they know that.

Agree with most you said, but not this. Grimes is awful.
