I agree that we need to pull out some of these road wins. The turnovers are inexcusable from upperclassmen. That ultimately lost the game. We’re still not getting killed in NET ratings since these are close losses. It’s been frustrating for sure though.

Im just saying that its not our first year under Bruce. 5 years and though were are certainly a better program, nobody can deny that, we have to expect better than losing those big leads like that. We have never had a inside game with Bruce and we are no closer now than we have been. Sloppy ball all over and at times, it really does look like just 5 guys and a ball.

Most of our starters have been around. Really no excuse for some of it.

He had three more TO’s than Waters which is uncharacteristic of his game.
Still,
Waters:
5-17 from the field
4-10 from 3
19 pts
10 assists
5-6 FT
3 Rebounds
3 steals

Harper:
7-11 from the field
5-8 from 3
25 points
6-6 FT
6 rebounds
7 assists
2 steals

Also, an Austin Wiley moving screen foul negated a successful 3 point FG by Harper.

Shows that you are not really interested in the conversation. Just deflection. Has nothing to do with the basketball team. We are shite on the road and shite against good teams.

We will never agree on Gus but we can still be friendly. Don’t want you to think I’m picking on you but the irony meter just blew up.

Sounds like we have us a double standard but whatever. Point is and its fact. We are getting our arse beat by every good team, beating up on the lessor teams and cant win anything on the road. The team is very disorganized and that is not getting any better.

We need some big wins. Possible a one and done in the tournament.

I just disagree. We have been playing much better the last couple of weeks. The metrics and results have shown it. We are being much more methodical and getting better shots on offense. Still taking threes, but they are better threes. Inside out game and drive and kick game is getting us much better shots.

We will win our next three.

I’m just telling you, if you’re gonna get bent out of shape during THIS auburn basketball season and bitch and whine and say WE DESERVE BETTER AS FANS then I would recommend another sport/team/program. If you’re looking for an honest discussion on our flaws and how we can get better, I’m all ears. I’ll talk hoops all day

I have not done that. Its just a discussion. One that would like to see some road wins and some wins against good teams. Sorry that discussions are not always pumping sunshine for you. The team is playing like shite on the road. We are 1-5 on the road. We are also not winning any games against good teams. All our impressive wins were at the beginning of the season

Ive never said anything you stated.

The conversation is this: I'm willing to give a coach attempting to build a program from the eternal ashes of the worst historical program in the SEC a longer leash than I am willing to give a coach with a Big Six SEC program that runs it like its Arkansas State.

I get where Lanier is coming from. Bruce isn’t perfect (no one here thinks he is). Lanier is just pointing out areas we need to work on. It’s not like he’s calling for his head.

Everyone on this board appreciates Bruce and wants him here, but we can’t deify him.

I guess it is in the definition of your word 'shite' that I can't agree.

On the road we have lost in the SEC by 3, 8, and now 5 pts. That is not playing like 'shite' to me.

But i will agree that something is missing off of this current team that is keeping it from winning these road games. I think our inside D is really poorer this year. Without Wiley, we have no inside game and he simply has been hurt most of the SEC games so far.

McClemore and SPencer are good shot blockers but take up no space in the middle, and always seem to get into foul trouble. The teams that have a bigger inside presence like SC, Kentucky, and now LSU simply outscore us and outrebound us inside.

We miss Murray and Heron for their rebounding and solid D inside.

We can be scary good on offense with Doughty as our 3, but it’s still going to allow teams to out physical us. Would be very useful if Purifoy can give more quality help there. He is progressing so we will see.

Exactly. Give Bruce some credit for the talent we have on the court and pray that we have more quality depth on the way. Looking at the schedule we are still March Madness bound imo and the season is still ahead of us.

Copied and pasted and included a few additions:

In Bruce’s defense:
-he’s got Doughty playing the 3. I don’t like him at the 3 as he can’t play bigger. Can’t bash the recruiting results when the team is still not formidable.
-- Lost a year of recruiting due to Person.
- Mclemore and Wiley are our only bigs and they have been either injury prone or cannot shake an injury and mind fricked the whole year.
-Style of play helps win games despite some of our deficiencies
- He called a TO against LSU to stop the bleeding just for Bryce to inbounds the ball straight to LSU. He cannot strongarm players to pull themselves out of a funk. Kudos to Brown for playing good defense after the turnover though.

To keep it fair to the haters( Lanier):
- UAB and Ole Miss bringing the game to a screeching halt seems to cause huge problems.
-His PG has 5+ TOs in two straight games and the team has regressed fundamentally.
- Cannot get over the hump: in many games we have stormed back and cut it to one possession multiple times just to let the win slip through our grasp.

Yeah that last minute was awful. They looked like they didnt care/or didnt know what to do.

We dont have any inside threats. Thus, we jack up quick 3s.
