I think after losing the LSU game its unrealistic to expect this team to win a championship. But I do think they can get to 10 wins
Washington WON
Bama State WON
LSU LOSS
Arkansas W
Southern Miss W
@ Mississippi State idk gonna be tough
Tennessee W
@ ole miss W ( could be scary)
A&M W ( could be scary )
@ UGA L
liberty W
@Bama L
And then probably the outback bowl game against Michigan or some bowl like that. It really comes down to Mississippi State and the bowl game gotta win both if you want any chance at 10 wins.

Winning the SEC is still the goal

We lost to LSU last year and found ourselves in the top 4 going into the SEC championship game. We had the same issues, too.
The next two games will be an opportunity to look at the interior of our OL. I hope it’s an opportunity for Lindsey to figure out some short yardage options that work with our strengths.

We need a preseason like the NFL so Gus will have 4 games to figure what he has before the season starts.

This is why I don't think Gus will ever be a great coach. How in the world are you not able to figure out through spring and summer that your starting RB is not good enough to be the starter?

Can we just go Tubs in 07 (Pugh, Ramsey, Ziemba) and put in all the young OL (Troxell, Ashley, Brahms) and let them take their lumps in hopes of paying off down the road ala 2010?

Apparently Gus has no eye for talent, JF III says hi.

Saban has the same issue. He lost to Ole Miss two year in a row. Urban Meyer teams look like shite 2-3 games a year. We could schedule two cupcakes to open the season, but that is not the path we have.

We lost by one point to an arch-rival that is better coached than anyone wants to admit.
Everything is still there for us. I don’t believe we’ll get there, but the season is by no means over.

Eh I'll blame Lashlee for this one. He saw him go off one game and made it happen.

How many times do you see them relegate their starter to third string after a couple games? No team is going to play perfect every game. That is understandable. My gripe is that it takes us 3-4 games just to figure out how to call plays for the team and who the best players are. These aren't incoming freshmen that their role expands as they get more experience. This is positions that the two deep at least was here all spring and summer.

No, the goal is still to win every game we have in front of us.
Obviously we have several that will be tough games, but winning by 2 or losing by 1 to LSU doesnt change the fact we have a good team that will be a handful for anyone and everyone we play. And that includes UGA and bama.
I still think we beat UGA this year in Athens. Tua being ridiculously good puts bama on another level. Not unbeatable but very tough. As usual if anyone is gonna beat bama it will be us. We are not afraid of them, so we will see.
At any rate, it is one game at a time. The MSU game will be our first chance to regain some momentum. Do that and everything is still in front of us. And we do know when Gus gets some momentum going he seems to get his head out of his arse and coaches pretty well.

This season is still far from over. I think everyone was ready to call UGA and Bama automatic losses after we lost to LSU lasts season, but the bottom line is we weren't the same team in November that we were in October.
The oline needs to improve a ton, but I love Whitlow and Shivers running the ball if they have some blocking. We need to find some pass rush on defense to bring everything together and help our corners out. If that happens by November, anything is possible.
Here is how I see the season playing out:
Arkansas- Gus takes frustration out on Arkansas as is tradition 70-7
Southern Miss- Cruise 53-10
Miss State- Fitzgerald struggles, Auburn hits their midseason stride in a must win game 35-14
Tennessee- LOL
Ole Miss- We'll run it down their throat for a 42-28 type victory
A&M- Tough, tight victory to start out November and get everyone hyped up again
I think it is still a very real possibility to roll into UGA with 1 loss as a top 10 team, and I think we will all have hope again by then.

IMO it has been the goal all along. Our schedule is brutal and our weaknesses generally don't lead to championships.
You can't slip up. You need to beat MSU and A&M. If we can accomplish those things beating either uga or bama wouldn't be a complete surprise. It would take a great effort, but it isn't impossible. If not, then the bowl game match up will matter. Plus, how many juniors who aren't NFL ready make the decision mentally to go?

Chad Kelly was an awesome college QB in a Hugh Freeze system that was perfect for his game.
Gus has lost two in a row to Ed Orgeron and a transfer QB.
The problem this year is the noticeable talent drop off. Last year we were better than LSU talent wise, but Gus let off the gas. It seems we've taken a step back this year in every area other than our defensive line. This is where lack of recruiting and player develop is showing its ugly face.

I disagree with this. If you think LSU has considerably more talent than us across the board, then you should be proud that we were able to hang in there until the last play of the game.
Offensive line is the only area I think we are lacking in talent currently. Offensive playmakers, secondary, linebackers, we have recruited better in these areas recently, than we ever have.
Turnovers, penalties, and oline cost the game yesterday.

Really? To me, we are more talented this year. Just young and raw.
