God this is so very true.

Smart looks like a brilliant hire compared to getting Gus or the Clemson OC.

Hahaha I thought I had avoided one of these posts but oh well.

God I wanted a defensive coach so badly. Still sick of seeing our defense get beat up by the pass, but the Gus/Ellis combo looks like a good matchup for the future.

Happy to be riding the Gus Bus these days, and happy we are so heavily power run reliant and not gadget gimmick Mickey Mouse high school only beats directional opponents offense.

I was the opposite, I wanted an offensive coach really badly, but really didn't see a good option. I'm beyond sick and tired of defensive head coaches that handcuff the offense. I want a great offensive mind who will hire a great DC and let him do his job. I didn't want Petrino because he is a douchebag who would have divided the fanbase. I was worried about discipline issues with Gus and thought he would be an average hire because of that.

Thankfully Gus squelched any concerns about discipline quickly and hired a great staff.

Apparently you can't read or provide an argument to what was wrong with it at that time and just post emoticons like Scott Reaves so I'll stand by my statement.
