If we go out and hire an unproven coach AGAIN. I won't be able to watch AU football next year. If we hire KS I may lose interest all together. Seriously I've watched since I was six and I'm twenty four now and this has been the story of my AU life I've been really excited over auburn twice in 18 years 04,10.
I really can't wait for dye to well.. dye, and Jacobs to be on one of these planes that drops him off somewhere over the ocean.

What is it with the younguns with the hate for Dye? You believe this bama caricature that has been created and that somehow he’s the master puppeteer. You’ll never appreciate what Dye did unless you were alive for the 70s-80s. You hear him on F-bomb and that’s your perspective of who he is.

He does not need to be involved with the program at all. He and the good ole boy network is what is the main problem right now.

i won't miss a guy getting on the radio every week saying things like i'd take 1 gene chizik over 10 nick sabans, or whatever his quip was.
Point being he's old and in the way now. I appreciate everything he's done for auburn football and i encourage him to continue to rasie money for auburn football and let it end there.

Get a grip on reality. The majority of hires in college football are unproven.

This "Bama caricature" of how he is now is a thousand times better than how he actually was while he was coaching. I'd take Petrino over Dye from a baggage standpoint.

That toomersdrugs guy sure did know what he was talking about.

We should bring Petrino in to help with our passing game

There was a whole lot of Gus hate in this thread.

The HUNH spread is being slowed down by elite defenses.. you're starting to see it more and more all over college football. Oregon this year is a prime example. They run into a solid Stanford D and they lose. There is a reason that the likes of Saban, Miles, Richt, etc. don't dabble in that type of offense. They stick to their guns because that is what is successful in this league. Florida and Muschamp have taken note.
The Rig bringing the lolz.

You guys had me freaked out. I see the December date on the op and think Gus has left for Texas and we're thinking about hiring Kirby.
Then I realized it's the 21st. Whew.

Glad I didn't post in this thread

That's why Gus doesn't run the "HUNH spread"
he runs the HUNH power run
EDIT: I think my reasoning was completely valid at the time. Gus hadn't shown success against Alabama outside 2010 and the same against LSU and UGA. My discipline comment came because of his handling of Dyer at stAte. I stand by what I said at the time. He just proved me wrong this year.
And the offense we have run this year is pretty different than what we ran in 09-11
