If Auburn University fails to keep Malzahn due to anything beyond Malzahn just wanting to leave, they've done themselves a disservice. We need stability in the program or we're never going to have consistency on the field. If he has reasonable demands, Auburn should meet them.

Agreed. Last night was not on Gus IMO. We were too beat up and it's a pity we don't get a tie breaker against the inbreed mascots.

I completely agree. Hopefully with JJ leaving Gus only gets better. It absolutely sucks working with someone you loathe.

Yes. But it is up to him if he stays or goes. Not money, etc. It has been made clear AU wants him to stay. If he goes back home, we won’t have a problem finding a coach. Gus has stacked the roster on both sides. Lane, or whom ever will be able to step in and compete at the highest level next season.

A raise on the 5-6m range isn't unreasonable given the current market.

More than 6m and I say we start calling his bluff. Jmo

I seriously doubt there is a single team in the country that could have pulled off beating #1 healthy UGA, #1 Alabama, and then a week later, a pissed off, healthy UGA team.

Let him walk if he wants to. There are plenty of coaches out there that can shite the bed in big games. He hasn't earned anything more than what he already has.

I will always feel that we had them on the ropes last night if not for the Stidham strip. We go up by double digits there and they are starting to question themselves with "here we go again" and are fragile mentally. They are not a come from behind team.

5-6 base with major bonuses for wins is a fantastic contract. That 7.5 regardless is not worth any coach, tbh. AU has fantastic facilities, and sits in the most talented region in the country. Championship lineman are within 2 hours of campus. We don’t need to overpay for coaches.

He deserves security, and that comes in the form of an extension and a reasonable raise.

Completely agree. My biggest complaint, and it’s been my complaint all season was the complete refusal to run our normal offense with any other RB than Kerryon. It was obvious he was really hurt, and he was completely ineffective. We’ve had all season to get another RB ready to run the offense, but refuse to do it. Martin has shown he can run the ball. Yes I know pass protection is an issue, but he would have been a hell of a lot more productive than KJ was being.

Also, we failed again to adjust to what a defense was doing. If we ran that offense we did against Bama, it would have torched them. Middle of the field was wide open. The coaching mistakes we had the majority of the season came back last night.

That’s why I’ve said all along, if Gus decides to leave, don’t care. If he stays, Dilly Dilly.

Please explain why he deserves anything? He has fell flat on his face time and time again. The only thing an extension will do is give him a bigger buyout when he goes 7-5 again next year.

Having to play Alabama in a physical iron bowl while UGA played a shitty Georgia Tech is probably a bigger factor than people are making of it. But what's done is done.

1. Recruiting
2. Turnaround after the LSU debacle which led to beating our two biggest rivals by double digits while both were #1
3. He's done both 1 and 2 while sharing the state with the greatest head coach in CFB history

You're being shortsighted.

Yep. I'd love to talk about how much bullshite it is that we had a week to recover from playing Alabama to go to a game where the majority of the tickets had been bought by our opponent over a month ago. But I won't.

He hasn't produced a winning record against our rivals nor an SECC since 13. But you think it's a good idea to give him a raise just for stability? You'd be a fool...

Agree. Ga can't get too far behind Okla or it will be a blowout.
