I had forgotten about this. I think he supposedly pulled something similar at Arky with the players, but I wouldn't be that surprised.

FWIW that wall of text looked a lot bigger on the mobile version.
I thought he made some good points too.

Darlin', he's a Bama fan. They're supposed to kick us when we're down. We return the favor when they suck

I totally understand that
He was just doing so in an obnoxious way.. and putting that by his name rattled him so I think I succeeded. Almost replaced his name with Alahunter's just to piss him off and make Alahunter hate me even more

Are you kidding me? He's been a coach since 1985, thats 27 years, and the longest he's ever stayed on a job has been 4 years. Look at his coaching resume and see how many 1-2 year jobs he's had, he's a guy thats made a career of looking for the "next job". He's seemingly coached at 1/3rd of the programs in the country
Do you know how many guys have multiply job changes as assistants?!?! How the hell do yo think you build a resumé?!?! With jobs!!! I pulled up his list and the The Almighty God-coach Nick Saban...
NIck Saban:
Kent State GA
Kent State Def. Asst.
Syracuse Def. Asst.
West Virginia Def. Asst.
Ohio State DBs
Navy Def. Asst.
Michigan St. DBs/DC
Houston Oilers DBs
Toledo
Cleveland Browns DC
Michigan St.
LSU
Miami Dolphins
Alabama
Bobby Petrino:
Carroll G.A.
Weber St. G.A.
Carroll OC/QB
Weber St. WR/TE
Idaho QBs
Idaho OC
Arizona St. QB
Nevada QB/OC
Utah St. OC
Louisville QB/OC
Jacksonville Jaguars QB/OC
Auburn OC
Louisville
Atlanta Falcons
Arkansas
Sooo....whats your point? Nick Saban told everyone in a press conference that he wasnt taking the Alabama job about a month before he took the Alabama job....these guys are human being college football coaches, they're not running for President.
But...make it sound good to yourself.

and the one BCS bowl game they made, they lost. To fricking Ohio State.
He also took Louisville to a BCS game, and won 41 games in 4 years..
Let that sink in, the same coach taking Louisville and Arkansas to BCS bowl games...
Impressive IMO.. He could do work at AU.. Also, he is capable of recruiting QBs.

Nick Saban got into coaching a decade before Petrino and his list still isn't as long. Furthermore, compare the staying-power once each rose up to the upper tier coaching ranks (Coordinator and Head Coach positions): Saban stuck around at every job other than Toledo and Miami whereas Petrino was pulling 1-2 year stints left and right. Petrino has shown zero commitment everywhere he's been...ever.

One guy has done it once, the other guy has done it about 6 times and he's more or less fricked over everyone he has ever worked for. Every job he has held he has lied and schemed behind the scenes. The guy gets caught in Jet-Gate and the next year what is he doing? Holding secret meetings with Florida, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss. The very next year he's interviewing for LSU. He then re-states his commitment to Louisville, only to interview for the Oakland Raiders job shortly after.
Like, do you realize that there are a LOT of coaches in the country? Surely the most hated, bile, and untrustworthy coach in the freaking game isn't the ONLY option out there. What makes you think that Petrino wont be searching for other jobs the year after he comes to Auburn? He's done it at literally every other point in his career. How is this guy going to recruit? His reputation is shot to shite and LMFAO @ any mother jumping up and down with excitement about their son playing for the motorcycle-scandal POS thats lied, lied, and lied some more at every point in his career.

He is not the only option. But he might be the best option.
I like his system. Problem is after he leaves, teams crash and burn without him. That shows his ability to get the best out of players.

The best option is a completely untrustworthy scumbag who also happens to be Nick Saban's personal whipping-boy? A guy who's never fielded a top-level defense and has never recruited at a high level?

Since Nick the Prick has had Bama rolling, which is 2008, there only been 5, FIVE coaches to beat him....
Urban Meyer, cant get him
Les Miles, cant get him
Steve Spurrier, cant get him and he's too old
Kyle Whittingham, no good since Utah joined the Pac 12
Gene Chizik
The ONLY 3 that have come close after them...Houston Nutt in 2008, Lane Kiffin in 2009, Bobby Petrino in 2010.
You know, its great when you know the facts to back up the shite you talk

I'm not sure if you realize this, but Alabama doesn't play every team in the country. Nor does Alabama play NFL teams that have potential HC candidates. You see, whereas neither I nor you know for certain whether or not 'X' coach at 'Y' school can beat Saban without them actually matching up, I can say for a fact that Petrino is 0-4 against Saban with 3 absolute blowouts. Combined score? 146 to 55...or roughly 36.5 to 13.75 per game. Not only can I say for certain that Saban has Petrino's number big time, but I can also say that Petrino can in no way come close to competing with Saban on the recruiting trail. One, because he's never proven to be a coach that strives to recruit the best talent possible, and two, because after his recent stunt he's got more baggage than you could fit in a cargo-plane.

I agree with everything you said but people do change especially after a big scandal like the one he just went through. I also feel it is fair to say he would recruit better at Auburn based solely on the fact that there is a shitload more talent within 150 miles of Auburn than the entire state of Arkansas. My only stiplulation with him would be that he hire a top notch DC and give them control over that side of the ball(this would include giving them their share of scholarships to offer). I'm not sure he would agree with handing over control of the defense but that would be the only way I would hire him if I were in charge.

Big boom there.
People, I get that y'all are desperate to whore yourselves out to a winner with how this season is imploding. But let's not whore ourselves out to a coach who in two years you will all be bitching about because he hasn't beaten Saban, doesn't have a defense, and whose name comes up in every GD coaching change rumor (remember those days with Tubs?).
