With losses to the big 3 plus TAMU and 1 other decent team. Would you want....

A. Malzahn to stay
B. Malzahn to stay but fire Dilly & hire a real OC
C. Malzahn to be let go

Thoughts?

He stays....IF we look competitive and the freshman quarterback mistakes are the thing that hurt us. Especially if Bo progresses

If you want to go 8-5 every year then Gus is the guy for the job.

I agree with you in the fact that not all losses are created equally.

I guess it depends on how you want to go 8-5. Kicking fg's and playing defense, or in high scoring shootouts, or something in-between

Mediocrity should not be acceptable at Auburn.

Let him go. But, that buyout is just too large. He is here for at least a few more years at 7-8 wins. Only way they put up the $$$ is if he really tanks and has a losing record. That contract really screwed us. His buyout was only around $6M in 2017. And we thought that was huge.

The scary thing is that this OLine will be significantly worse next year.

Not necessarily.

8-5 won’t cut it.

Will basically be a handful of 4 and 5 loss seasons in a row and that’s enough of a sample size to cut bait.

He needs 9 wins minimum, definite Bo Nix development, and undeniable team improvement throughout the year.

Recruiting is another reason Malzahn probably isn't in as much trouble as he could be.

His critical games are UF/TAMU. He has to win those.

Gotta fire him because, next year our schedule will be close to as difficult AND we will be breaking in new OL and DL. So 8-5 or 7-6 will be staring us in the face AGAIN.

Hoping for C, but I doubt that happens. Then next year we’ll hear the same old “we’re a young team, give me time to get the right QB, etc.”

It could be addition by subtraction.

8-5 where the offense isn't really cohesive and we're pretty far behind our rivals (games aren't very competitive or we get blown out), I want him gone. That would be two years of total and complete stagnation without much hope for 2020, either.

8-5 where things are starting to gel, we play most of our big 5 games closely and are better in game 12 than we are in game 5, probably have to keep him.

I say C. Malzahn to be let go. Especially if we have blowout losses to bammer and the mutts. I'm tired of being mediocre.

If we are competitive and the games are close he'll probably get to stay.

Over years Gus has managed to eliminate much of my enthusiasm for getting emotional about the program so I probably won’t care what happens tbh.

Pride and Integrity can't be bought.
