Hugh "Buc-ee Beaver" Freeze likes skinny ankles

Yes, you heard it right. I was watching Next Round yesterday and Brittany Wagner of Last Chance U fame was on. She said that when Hugh would come to check out players he would ask to see their ankles. She asked him why he did that and Hugh said the guys with skinny ankles are the most athletic. She also said dealing with Hugh and Lane, following up with players who finished their college careers under them, Hugh had the most positive feedback.

Hell, I have always had small ankles
Only thing it gave me was plenty of time on the taping table before practice

Skinny ankles and high calves. I always knew I was getting my ankles broken if I saw a kid with both

Hugh comes of as very personable. Lane does not, and Gus and Harsin didn’t appear to be either.
Although some players left Auburn to go play for Gus, so players must like him.
