This week’s Film Room takes a look at what changed for Auburn between its slow first quarter and its strong second and third quarters. The decision-making, explosiveness and balance after the slow start came at a perfect time for an offense that needs all of its available firepower in its last two SEC games against undefeated rivals Georgia and Alabama.

Viewing Auburn’s offensive game in drive groups

Auburn ran 15 plays on its first three offensive drives of the game — none of which netted any points. The Tigers made two key personnel moves and changed up its play-calling after those drives.

Auburn ran 17 plays on its next two drives, then 15 on its next four drives, then 13 on its next two drives before the 13-play, clock-melting touchdown drive in the fourth quarter that killed off the game.

Group 1: 16 plays on three drives
Group 2: 17 plays on two drives
Group 3: 15 plays on four drives
Group 4: 12 plays on two drives
There are four distinct groups of possessions with play numbers in the teens, so let’s view Auburn’s offensive performance through those lenses.

You do realize we beat a shitty TAMU team and struggled the first half against them.

You do realize you’ve become a baby back bitch in every thread. I guess 15 point victories on the road against conference opponents mean nothing now.

The original post was just a film room breakdown. You decided to come in and douche it up. Sorry you want to Auburn to fail so you can justify your constant bitching.

Auburn does not have to fail for people to bitch. See morons crying about wanting to pass the ball in 2013. Or me in the recruiting thread

We beat their arse and the film breakdown listed in the OP describes the personnel and play-calling changes that allowed the arse-whooping to happen. Did you even attempt to read the content of the original post before you decided to turn the thread into your own, personal little melt fest?

I LOVE that angle route to Davis. That can be a big play for him and Hastings on 3rd and medium situations.

Dude, we get it. TAMU sucks, and will be firing their HC soon.

But what did you predict would happen when we played them? Here, let me refresh your memory:
quote:

I have the same feeling about this game as I did for the LSU game, TAMU is another team Gus chokes against.
quote:

I will break it down for you.

Auburn will race out to a 17+ point lead in the first 1.5 quarters, Chavis will make adjustments, Gus won't and we end up losing.
quote:

I honestly believe if he races out to a big lead vs TAMU he will sit on it again to "prove" the he was right by sitting on a lead, he comes off as a hard headed egotistical maniac.
So, things transpired almost exactly the opposite of everything you expected.

And you're pissed off about THAT, too.

The biggest adjustment was taking Darius James out of the game. Dude is a statue. TAMU just ran around him. I realize he has been hurt, but it was painful to watch him just stand there while A&M guys just ran by.

As for what Ferg is talking about, it's clear OL struggles is what was slowing offense down at start of game. Horton just wasn't himself

Look at him try and come off double team to pick up stunt & it's clear he's struggling with footing

Also James footwork is so bad. Dude relies too much on his punch and gets beat by speedier ends

I think AU needs to start Tega/Harrell/Dunn/Smith/Golson against UGA & see how they do. If Tega can't cut it then see if James can go but I would not put either Horton or James out there to start game after seeing how slow footed they were against A&M
