That’s a nice stat line. Really hate that he transferred. Was it just because he wasn’t getting playing time? Looks like the talent is still there.

The rumors are he was in the dog house with Garner or Steele and didn't work very hard in the weight room or in practice.

It's weird because of every year, we (maybe just me) feel like our DT recruiting + depth will be shot "down the road."




We do have some rumored future position changes/moves down the road though

Marlon Davidson: DE->DT Davidson somehow is listed at 283lb despite looking very slender. He appears to have the frame to add weight and be a terror on inside pass rush. Potentially could be like Michael Bennett in SEA rotating at DE/DT to cause matchup + identification issues

Nick Coe: DE->DT Nick Coe is supposedly already our emergency DT depth with Cowart gone. At 6'5 270, he has the frame to add weight + athleticism to be a menace inside. Similar to Davidson, he could possibly play both DE/DT depending on situation

JUCO Recruit Daquan Newkirk: SDE->DT Newkirk supposedly has been playing interior DL in JUCO and been great. He is listed 6'3 280



I think the big key is if Rodney Garner can pull out his late recruiting period steal. Especially with the new signing period, I am a little bit worried


Usually, though Garner pulls some unexpected/longshot 4*/5* DL out of his arse though (even if they don't all work out)
