All I ask is that the next coach we get signs a contract with not buyout from us or him.

If he wants to go to nfl or any college including Georgia and Bama, let him go.

No more buyouts.

Earn it.

Big bonuses: YES

Buyouts: NO

If we lose at Saturday, Gus will be fired...maybe even before the season is over.

Imagine the recruiting ranking if Gus goes 6-7 and gets to stay another year only because we cant afford to fire him.

This is a good point.

Pretty sure it would be more financially damaging to tank this class + next years by keeping Gus than to just buy him out

What if we go 6-6? How is that any different?

Guess we’ll see, boss. I think if he loses Saturday, he’s out. This is year six and we are bitching about a lack of talent at certain positions (OL) or underdevelopment at others (QB) that’s unacceptable with the national exposure and momentum he has had at different times during his tenure. He is a man that can’t handle success so he cannot sustain it. He chooses not to adapt and so his coaching philosophy becomes outdated. If only we could all be so stubborn and complacent and make millions..

from what I've heard and read

5-7 - Gus is gone.

7-5 - Gus is back.

6-6 - Depends on how bad the Iron Bowl is if Gus keeps it somewhat competitive then probably back

In the grand scheme of things, the Ole Miss game is irrelevant and just more soft lines in the sand. If we are going to fire him for being incompetent, the Ole Miss game isn’t going to tell us anything. So is he out or not.

hopefully

Waiting till the end tanks this years recruiting and leaves us in an even bigger hole. He needs to be shown the door while this years class can still be salvaged. Sorry but one guy is not bigger than the program and if he's HC. . .

. . . it's just means he been overpaid for too long already.

$2 million in bowl money to the Athketic Department. But clearly unacceptable for a coach getting paid as much as he is.

6-6 he gets fired too. Especially after UGA and UA beat us by 30+, which is a real possibility unless we improve.

We shall see.

Time will tell.

I do not think Gus has performed at a 7 million dollar level.

Fire him.

The next contract needs to reflect performance based pay.

Big on performance bonuses.
Low on guarantees and buyouts.

As far as a final win loss record, this weekend is huge for Gus. TAMU looks to be an L, Georgia too, and Bama can name their score if the team mails it in by that point of the season.

Then you will be buying at the Dregs of the Coaching Market.

Auburn hasn’t been a place you could go below .500 outside of your first year of rebuilding and keep your job in my lifespan and I doubt that changes this season

A big buyout got us here.

A big buyout got us Chizik.

Still sticking with the big buyout strategy?

It's best for Auburn if Gus goes.

I don't see it happening but if he could finish the regular season 8-5 with a competitive loss to uga or bama and win a bowl game. Maybe, maybe Auburn could keep him. Fans, coaches, players, everyone knows something isn't right. Sometimes its easier to yank the bandaid off.

32 million this time.

So what kind of “buyout” does the board suggest?
