Against the Dawgs' defense, it is probably asking a lot for Jarrett Stidham, Kerryon Johnson and Gus Malzahn's hurry-up offense that was shut down in the second half at LSU and endured 11 sacks to Clemson to be all that productive Saturday. The motivation is certainly there after last season's 13-7 loss in Athens. According to Johnson in a CBS Sports interview Thursday night, the team has watched the 2016 carnage enough the past few days to remind them how bad then-No. 9 Auburn played against an unranked Georgia team that held the ball almost 40 minutes and stopped the Tigers 10 times on third down.

They should. Embarrassed. Time for payback and nothing better than to knock them off undefeated. They have more pressure than us to win.

How about 2014 and 2015? Have they had to endure that Carnage as well? If not they should have....

From a Psychological stand point the script has been flipped from last year. We have nothing to lose but the game. The LSU game might have finally broke Gus of his stubborn ways. Lets hope so.

I keep seeing people say we have nothing to lose but we are playing for the exact same things UGA is. We have a harder path obviously but we can still accomplish the same goals.

Having a quarterback with a busted arm and a broke dick coach calling plays didnt help.

No one ever said we have nothing to lose. One is undefeated and ranked #1 in the country. One has 2 losses ranked 9th. One has more pressure than other and its not AU. We know we need to win to advance but we also lost two games this year so AU has been through tough losses and has bounced back from each. UGA has no idea and hasn't played anyone at the caliber of AU yet.

Im pleasantly surprised that Gus is doing this. You'd get the impression after the game Gus doesn't care.

Of course they watched last year's UGA game. Why wouldn't they? Same HC, same coordinators, much of the same personnel. Don't confuse common sense with a motivational tactic.

Don't see why it can't be both. Games from this year are much more beneficial for scouting.

I think it would be more motivational to burn that fricking tape. It is much more of a condemnation of Gus than the players. I hope Gus watched with them, it was his shitty playcalling and bad personnel choices that lost the game.
