I imagine Woodson will slide over and we’ll hire someone that can coach anywhere.

Yeah, I like Brown but there’s clearly an effort being made by Gus to do things differently on the staff.

He’s just a nomad hired gun. Was hard to embrace his hiring for that one reason alone.

Would like to know why. Don’t like it when coaches leave a school right after recruits sign. Now we need to make a srong hire because i do think he elevated our db talent.

The article I read said Wesley McGriff would be a candidate.
It also said.......

quote:

Auburn recently hired former Furman cornerbacks coach Addison Williams as an analyst. He could be an option as an on-the-field assistant should Brown leave for Purdue.

McGriff would make a lot of sense... combo of Woodson/ McGriff would be deadly on the trail.

He was one who's job was in question. It is pretty obvious that he's a guy who probably doesn't mesh at a lot of places, so he just walks away to new jobs before he actually gets fired.

Read couple of months ago that McGriff was in Auburn doing something. Have wondered about him and asked about him a couple times on here. If I had to guess he comes back. Wish that safety recruit didn’t follow him to Ole Miss. Don’t remember that safety’s name though.

Plus that way we can save Etheridge for Bill Clark's future staff

Hunter went to Virginia Tech. Had McGriff stayed he would have come here.

I saw two articles from FSU sites saying he was going to join the FSU staff. They were both from early Jan.. When I clicked on each link, they didn't exist..........so I guess that fell through.

Doesn't that describe most career position coaches?
