No way Smart or Malzahn will end up as our next coach. Refer back to the initial statement about the search made by Jacobs (a proven winner). Any of you that have "sources" are neck deep in rumor and flat out guesses. Jacobs job is on the line and there are good candidates out there that have shown at least partial interest in Auburn. Anyone that's been following this has to realize Bobby Petrino is very much in the picture. Will Jacobs hire him? Well, logic tells me he will if we miss out on bigger targets (Patterson, for example).
Also, please realize that to justify a BP hire, Jacobs has to show that he evaluated all other potentials before making that call. He has to.

Folks who want inside information, you will NOT find that on the coaching search... Coaching searches are much more complicated that firing a coach (that is the easy part). Many schools get turned down, etc... (See Arkansas, Alabama, etc.).
I hope you gut is correct, but I think (no inside info) that JJ screws this up..

Trust me when I say that you are wrong.
Malzahn has a pretty good bit to do with the mess that we are now in due to his lack of scouting ability.
