Have any of you used the gameday shuttles?

We used them for the first time Saturday. My mom is in her 80s and has Parkinsons, and so she can't walk from where we typically park at Auburn Bank. Instead we parked at the VCOM lot and used the shuttle.

Getting to the stadium wasn't too bad. Of course there was some traffic, but all in all not bad, and it dropped us off by Nichols Center.

After the game, it was nuts. We left right as the game ended, and were able to get to the pick up point without issue. But once the shuttle got moving, it was nuts. I think it took 30 minutes to loop around from War Eagle Way @ Donahue to Magnolia, back around to Wire Road. Is that normal?

Once we got turned off Wire onto Samford it took another 30+ minutes to get up to Donahue and turn to go back to VCOM. Granted, we were passed by an ambulance, and I don't know where/when the Marquis Daniels wreck occurred, so that may have had an impact.

If that is normal, I think there has to be a better way to get the shuttles out of down by the stadium. With all of the cars coming out of the lots along Magnolia and the old extension, those roads are too clogged to try to run the shuttles in them as well. I don't know if they could go down to Glenn, then take Hemlock from Glenn back to Samford or something.

Yes, I usually take one from the Auburn mall if I don't buy a parking pass. I like them because they pretty much take you right up to the stadium. After the game I usually catch up on messages while waiting on the shuttle or during the drive back to mall. It knocks out the majority of the stop and go traffic for me.

Never used the shuttle at Auburn but have used them at away stadiums and they've pretty much been what you described. Easy getting in, forever getting out. Don't know what the solution is unless you had dedicated lanes for shuttles only which then throws your car traffic into turmoil.
