What about Sharif Cooper? Does he commit to Auburn?

Too early to tell. UK is hard after him and he’s on Duke’s radar as well. It would be a heck of a job by Bruce to snag him.

When you said 'sharp shooter', that brought me to thinking, who is the next gunner to replace Brown?

Gonna have to hope that Jamal steps in nicely. We really have no clue what our team will look like though. Brown, Harper, Okeke, Wiley, and Horace could all be reasonably gone. Wiley and Harper could reasonably come back too. I believe Brown, Okeke, and Horace will be gone though.

Unless they prefer to play overseas, I’m not sure any of them would get drafted with the exception of Wiley just based on size.

Okeke will be an NBA player, but he still needs another year at least.

Harper is too small for NBA team to draft.

Jamal Johnson

I think he'll be a great fit. He has a very similar game as Brown, maybe even with better ball security and point skills. He can definitely stroke it too.

Well, the eligibility of Brown and Spencer expires with them being Seniors, along with Dunbar.. and I feel the same about Harper and Okeke as Maker Mark's take. The only way Harper or Purifoy leaves early is to play overseas and Okeke has NBA potential but isn't ready yet.

Wiley is the only wildcard, imo.. With his injuries, do you take a chance on a career in the NBA developmental league or enjoy and get the most out of the college experience knowing the next play could be your last?

PG Harper, McCormick/Turbo
SG JJ/Doughty
SF Purifoy, Okoro, Flanigan
PF Okeke, J Will
C Wiley?/McLemore, Stretch

Something like this, although just like most years there could be some attrition.. and I don't know about everyone else but that roster looks nasty to me.

Yep. We are in it because we have built strong relationships with him, his family, coach and teammates over the span of several years.

He may need another year but if he’s afforded the chance to learn while on an NBA roster, I believe he will take it. He’s already an asset with his versitility and perimeter defense and his offense has picked up considerably the last handful of games.

It also depends on tbe advice that Okeke and the rest of our players are getting.

I doubt he gets drafted but again, you never know what advice he will receive. He may be fine competing for a spot during summer camp. Players like Isiah Thomas have done well in the league at a diminutive size so it’s not completely unfathomable that Harper could be the next one. Especially if he learned low how to finish his drives. He’s already a dead eye shooter that shoots well beyond NBA range.
As for Wiley, he could be told to hang back and prove that he can stay healthy. Or he could be told that he needs to declare and collect some kind of a check before his injuries ultimately makes him put the ball down.

As for Purifoy: it’s still hard to imagine him returning.

How did we get Buck Johnson's kid anyway? Why didnt he sign w/ Bama after HS or for sure when he transferred?

His stats look really good his FR year at Memphis...and if he turns out to be a quality SEC player large cudos to Coach Pearl for landing him at AU...

Alabama signed a large class in 2017. Colin Sexton, John Petty, Herbert Jones, Alex Reese, and Galin Smith. I doubt they had room for him and if they did, he likely wasn’t of much priority

Harper could make a roster, but there is a huge financial difference between being the first PG drafted and going through NBDL as a free agent.

I don’t think he is extremely poor. He may enjoy college team environment. Maybe he will stay.

Wiley has the size, but he is not a killer. Not much tape on him and he has injury history. I think he plays another year.

All according to a Marcello report:
Wiley practiced for an extended period Monday but was limited Tuesday. We hope he can get 10+ minutes tonight.

Without Wiley we are 3-4 in SEC play this season. With,we are 2-1.

Wiley has averaged 17 minutes per game throughout his career.

A victory tonight would count as a quadrant 2 win. We are 6-1 in such games this season.

Auburn is 0-6 facing quadrant 1 teams with only four games against quadrant 1 teams remaining (home vs. Tennessee and Mississippi State, Away at Kentucky and Alabama.)

Auburn is still ranked 20th in NET rankings.

It’s a sliding scale based on where the game was played. For a road game, they have to be top 75 in the NET for it to be a quad 1 win. For a home game, they have to be top 30. For neutral, top 50.
